United Latest | Manchester United News

The Red Devils aren’t messing about this summer in the transfer market, with nearly £60 Million of talent purchased over the last month. And according to a host of trusted news sources, United have turned their attentions on highly-rated 24-year-old Arsenal and France midfielder, Samir Nasri…

The Premier League Champions are hopeful of tempting Arsenal into a £20 Million plus sale of contract rebel Samir Nasri. The attacking mid has refused to put pen-to-paper on a new deal with The Gunners, which has brought Nasri to the attention of The Reds, along with Manchester City – who are also credited with interest in the French playmaker – but the most recent stories state that staff at the Eastlands club do not believe they will sign Nasri.

United are badly in need of a creative midfielder following the loss of Paul Scholes and Owen Hargreaves, and Sir Alex Ferguson has long been an apparent onlooker of Inter Milan superstar Wesley Sneijder. But Nasri is said to be top on the shopping list at Old Trafford, and the French International is in return keen on a move to the world’s biggest stage, after publicly declaring the possibility of a move to the club earlier in June.

Nasri has scored 27 goals and assisted 15 more in his 124 games for Arsenal. The Emirates man has just one year remaining on a contract that has seen him win three PFA Fan’s Player Of The Month awards since 2010, and rack-up a place on the PFA Team Of The Year for the season gone by. The former Marseille man has also made 22 appearances for France, scoring 2 goals and setting-up 3 scores. Bienvenue, Samir ?

If Wenger sell Fabregas to Barca, there is no point for nasri to stay. How do you compete when you sell your biggest star to Barca and expect player like nasri to stay. Wenger is ruining Arsenal FC and I think he is strong enough to jump ship to Man Utd. Come on nasri, come and join Utd!

If Samir Nasir shouldmove to Manchester United it will be a gud signing of the summer transfer as the team want to create a unique squard. Good Luck to Sir Alex, Man utd and all the fans of Man utd

Doesn’t make sense to join Utd if I were Nasri. I think he is just making use of Utd to get a wage increase. With Fab gone, he would be the next commanding presence. So why would he leave? Furthermore Nasri is not a complete as of yet.. Nevertheless if he were to come to Utd. We’ll welcome him! Nothing but ManUtd!

this article doesnt talk about it’s headline at all.nothing in it shows Utd are confident of luring him cos they are just giving us stats9which is useless)…heard Shitty are favourites cos of the huge wage appeal.will be damn if we lose him to those noisy neighbours.evra has gotta help us!!!!!!!

IMO 20 mil is WAY TOO MUCH for a player that has just one year remaining on his contract. We should give Cleverley & Ando the chance to dictate the attack.

I am thinking of running a fantasy football league at work when the new season starts and I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice as to how to go about it.

I have never done anything like it before so any and all advice is welcome.

On a side note Man Utd rule all!!!!

I dont agree with sit Alex Ferguson bringing Nasir. There are better players.Take an example of mexico player “DOS SANTOS”. Why cant Sir Alex closely look at this young player? I THINK HE FITS IN MAN UTD.

If we get jauo moutinho or diarra- & nasri in, we would wrap up the 20th title no problem and would compete with barca without a problem in the champs league due to pure quality in the middle of our team.

Fri, 01 Jul 2011 4:48:18 pm

Manutd.com says arsenal want o’shea so why don’t we give them o’shea and £13 million for nasri?

No way. O Shea is one player which you want to keep. He can slot in any position in def role to def mid. crucial when we face injuries. With the youngsters we have, o Shea is good for training em as well!

arsenal wont sell unless it’s a good deal I’d say 20m plus oshea. nasri is perfect creative midfielder he’s premiership proven
Anderson isn’t a creative midfielder and I dont think cleverly will be either
nasri all the way and either diarra or mvilla

Migsy

Fri, 01 Jul 2011 5:53:02 pm

I think it’s more like 22 million and oshea. We have to pay arse to take him!!

Don’t know what all the fuss is !!!
He’s has half a good season and he wants to leave arsenal because he wants more money so he’s not in it for the game he’s in it for the coin
He’s well and truly over rated

Ranks

Sat, 02 Jul 2011 9:32:39 am

15 assists in 124 games?? That’s a poor return, Nani set that many up last season alone

hes premier league proven we could buy sneijder and him turn out to b another veron
were buying a 24year old lad who is without a doubt a super talent and fergie will bring the best out of him. i think it’s as important to get a quality defensive midfielder who can break up play just in front of the defence a good strong challenger who isn’t afraid to get stuck in diarra is the only man or even cheaper joey Barton 1m bargain any comments on us having a look at Barton

Joe T

Sat, 02 Jul 2011 11:38:57 pm

Joey barton? Fergie wouldnt wanna bring him to united, he’s too much trouble. Personally i agree with the diarra comment plus he wud be quite cheap. Im starting to get worried because i havnt heard any news about berbatov going. I really dont think he suits our style and cud offer him as a make-weight for modric.

pls. come to man utd nasri

yes he is a trouble causer but might be worth a go for 1m
yeah berba doesn’t suit utd play. diarra wud cost bout 20m ish depends on if we swap a player and they giv us cash offer them berba or if nani wanted to go. people keep goin on bout how we desperately need a creative midfielder wen we need a defensive midfielder as much guys. look at all the great teams hav always had a player who breaks up play real had makalele. arsenal had viera we has Keane etc etc sum one to do the dirty work for us n let the flair players do the job. wen real beat barca in the cup final diarra harassed messi and xavi and inietsa never gave them time he was the man of the match he’s world class guys and needs to join utd. he’s only young aswell
