Chicharito: United A ‘Big Family’ 06/12/2010
![]() Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez has compared Manchester United to a ‘big family’. The 22-year-old little Mexican striker publicly thanked Sir Alex Ferguson and The Reds’ back-room staff for helping him cope with the pressure surrounding playing for the world’s biggest footie club… Chicharito joined United during the summer after his former club, Chivas Guadalajara, had come to a £12 Million agreement to sell the World Cup sensation. The deal was wrapped-up before South Africa 2010, where he impressed by netting twice with Mexico. The young striker has since settled in well at Old Trafford, scoring 9 goals for the club in 21 appearances – including Pre-Season. Hernandez has been dubbed as ‘the next Michael Owen’, and is well and truly on his way to living-up to his acclaimed status. “I am really enjoying it,” Chicha told a news conference on Monday. “I know I am lucky person to be here because this is a great opportunity for me. Despite the pressures of playing for a big club with such a huge stature, United is very much like a big family.” “From the coaching staff, backroom staff and the cooks, everyone at the club treats you the same. We all get on. Everyone gives you a slap on the back and encourages you from time to time. That atmosphere has allowed me to improve and to grow as a person and a player.” Hernandez was speaking at Carrington ahead of Valencia’s visit to Old Trafford on Tuesday. At the same conference, Sir Alex said of Chicha: “He has got the spring but he also has the ability to just hang there for a second or two, just like Denis Law and Ian St. John. Some bigger players had great ability in the air but it is that talent to hang in the air for a fraction that can upset defenders.” Now Available On The App Store Commentsstece Mon, 06 Dec 2010 6:14:06 pm we should make up song for him. jiust placed a bet on alan pardew talking over stece Mon, 06 Dec 2010 6:16:17 pm talking over newcastle. your blog is funny i had newcastle there tee boy Mon, 06 Dec 2010 6:23:39 pm stece your not serious….pardew?not possible.that guy is a disaster….
