Reported United target Wesley Sneijder hailed The Red Devils as a ‘beautiful club’ when speaking to press in the Netherlands on Monday. The 26-year-old Dutch midfielder is apparently one of Sir Alex’s top summer transfer targets, but Inter Milan’s main man revealed that he currently has no problems with living in Italy…
2010 FIFA World Cup superstar Sneijder is believed to be wanted by United, in an attempt to replaced veteran midfielder Paul Scholes, who – being 10 years older than the Holland ace – is set to retire at the end of the season. Dutch teammate and Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben, as well as Tottenham Hotspur mid Rafael Van Der Vaart have both backed Sneijder to make the move to the world’s biggest club.
Sneijder told AT5 Studio Ajax: “Do I want to go to Manchester United ? – Well, it’s a beautiful club. But I’m fine in Milan and right now is not the time to think about it.” Also speaking to Dutch media was International colleague Van Der Vaart: “You see all those players from United and City are coming to London. So that says a lot about the city. But it would be fun, Wes can also enjoy stopping by in London. Man Utd is a better club than Inter !”
With Robben recently claiming Sneijder is the only footballer in the world who can replaced Scholesy and Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti confirming The Reds’ interest in the midfield ace, signs look good for Sir Alex and his entourage to secure a deal close to £25 Million with the current Serie A champions this off-season…
