United Latest

Inter Milan swooped the floor last week, picking-up every UEFA Award available to them. Diego Milito was voted as European Player Of The Year, with Julio Cesar bagging the Goalkeeping award and Maicon claiming the Defending accolade. Sir Alex was one of many judges, we reveal his choices…

European Football’s top managers were part of a large voting panel which decided Europe’s finest. Arsene Wenger, Carlo Ancelotti, Pep Guardiola, and José Mourinho joined Sir Alex Ferguson on the panel. They deliberated on which players won Club Goalkeeper, Defender, Midfielder, Forward and Footballer Of The Year. The managers could not nominate their own players for the awards.

Here are Sir Alex’s choices:
Goalkeeper: 1.) Petr Cech – 2.) Victor Valdes – 3.) Julio Cesar (winner)
Defender: 1.) Samuel – 2.) Lucio – 3.) Maicon (winner)
Midfielder: 1.) Wesley Sneijder (winner) – 2.) Xavi – 3.) Cesc Fabregas
Forward: 1.) Diego Milito (winner) – 2.) Lionel Messi – 3.) Cristiano Ronaldo

Footballer Of The Year:
Wesley Sneijder

Interesting. If he thought so much of Sneider why didn’t he sign him when Real let him go so cheap.

I thought it was ridiculous that we did not do what Redz said. But The Glazers wanted the full £80 Million for themselves. Greedy bastards !
