Sir Alex Confirms Lindegaard Move 23/11/2010
![]() Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that Aalesund goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard will join Manchester United in January. The boss admitted that he hopes that the 26-year-old Denmark International will put pen to paper on a contract deal within ‘two to three weeks’… Lindegaard has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford since the beginning of the year, but it was only last week that speculation intensified. The young Dane was expected to have signed over the weekend, but the deal with be wrapped-up within ‘two to three weeks’ according to Sir Alex. With Lindegaard ineligible to play for The Reds until January. “(The deal) is not completed at the moment but there has not been a hiccup either. It will probably happen in the next two or three weeks, but the announcement was a bit premature.” the gaffer told the media on Tuesday. Lindegaard will join on a long-term deal, seeing him leave Norway for £3.5 Million. United goalkeeping coach Eric Steele has seen Lindegaard in action on a number of occasions, and the 6ft 4in shot stopper is seen as an eventual replacement for Edwin Van Der Sar.
