Scholes Looking Forward To Life As A Coach 18/06/2011
Paul Scholes says he is relishing the chance to coach at Manchester United. The newly retired 36-year-old midfielder has told the club’s media that Sir Alex Ferguson is keen to have Scholsey as a trainer at Carrington, and a contract is expected to be put in place before the new season… Scholes won a mammoth 24 titles in 17 years at Old Trafford, including 10 Premier League trophies and 2 UEFA Champions League cups. The former England International mid played 676 games, scoring 150 goals. Scholes’ Testimonial game will take place against American side ‘New York Cosmos’ on August 5th, where Eric Cantona and Pelé will do battle off the field with Sir Alex. After this event, Scholes will be instated as a coach at the club. “I’m not too sure what the manager wants me to do yet but I’m looking forward to it,” Scholes said. “I’ve done bits and pieces. It’s certainly something different and I just want to be able to help players in whatever way I can. I haven’t done that much yet, but what I have done I have enjoyed. I am not looking too far ahead. I just want to get into it and start it and hopefully I can do the job. If I can do it I will want to be as good as I possibly can be.” “I just don’t know at what level I will be most comfortable…” added the Salford native. “I will just take it as it comes. If I get some confidence as I am doing it we will take it from there. You think the end is never going to come and you don’t think about what to do like I have in the last six months. In the last six months I have been thinking about it. I am going to give the coaching a go. Football is the only thing I know a little bit about !” CommentsBRIAN Sat, 18 Jun 2011 2:00:52 pm WERE LINKED WITH NO ONE ANY MORE ; IS IT A GOOD THING OR BAD THING ;I HOPE SANCHEZ PICKS US;IF WE SIGN YOUNG AND SANCHEZ AND NO ONE ELSE I BE A HAPPY SKY BET Sat, 18 Jun 2011 2:12:22 pm BREAKING NEWS; SKY BET SLASH THE ODDS ON SANCHEZ IN COMING TO UNITED TO 2/1 WITH CITY LEADING THE RACE STILL AT 4/6 WE ARE SECOND THERE MUST BE SOMETHING AFTER GOING ON GET IN THERE CALM CALM DO Jonkolabu Sat, 18 Jun 2011 4:28:11 pm guys, read this… z Sun, 19 Jun 2011 2:18:03 am jonkolabu,i think i know u..if we’re gonna miss him, then we better look seriously on sneider and sanchez…get them up SAF… Ranks Sun, 19 Jun 2011 7:40:30 am Why would you be happy with just Sanchez and Young?
