Sir Alex Ferguson has publicly pledged to buy ‘two or three players’ over this summer’s transfer window. The gaffer was speaking in America, where he revealed United’s list of fixtures for the 2011 pre-season tour of The USA. Sir Alex’s comments come as Dutch midfielder Wesley Sneijder is said to want to leave Inter Milan for OT… Sir Alex praised the MLS’ growth over the past few years, saying he was looking forward to meeting three MLS club teams in July, before playing the best ‘soccer’ players in the league – in a match against the ‘MLS All-Stars’. United will end their pre-season tour of the United States with a mouth-watering test against Barcelona in Washington DC. Launching the tour schedule, Fergie said United’s American owners – The Glazers – will fund summer transfers. “We have certain targets in mind at the moment anyway. I think two or three will be fulfilled, there’s no question about that. The Glazer Family have always been very supportive of our desires to improve the team.” the boss explained. “What we are good at is bringing young players to the club, like Chicharito for example. If you look at how, over the last six or eight years, we’ve brought in young players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney.” “I don’t see why we should change from what we’re good at.” referring to United’s capability to produce men out of boys. “We will continue to buy, without question, and when the opportunity does arrive and we identify the right young players, that’s the way we’ll go. We’re particularly strong with young strikers at the moment for some strange reason.
