Manchester United are ready to launch a £25 Million bid to lure Wesley Sneijder away from Italian champions Inter Milan. At the age of 26, the highly-talented Dutch midfielder is growing frustrated at the guidance of the club by new manager Leonardo and is reported to be seeking a long-term move to Old Trafford…
Last summer, The Reds were said to have failed in a £29 Million bid for Wesley Sneijder. One year later, Inter Milan are prepared to let the Holland International leave the San Siro for £25 Million. A host of problems have combined to force the club into such turmoil that they are ready to sell their best player. With José Mourinho joining Real Madrid, Rafa Benitez added to the woes of the Italian giants – leaving Leonardo to pick up the pieces.
Currently, the new Brazilian manager isn’t capable of what is being asked of him; as reigning Italian and European champions Inter are struggling in Serie A and were recently knocked-out of the UEFA Champions League by FC Schalke 04. Star midfielder Sneijder is now disheartened at Inter – and according to press in Milan, he wants out – despite signing a new 5-year contract with the club late last year.
Sir Alex Ferguson is a big admirer of Sneijder, who turns 27 in the summer. United are rumoured to be contemplating a £25 (€28) Million bid for the 2010 FIFA World Cup finalist, with Inter hierarchy leaning towards selling their most prized asset. Sneijder, 10 years younger than the following, is seen by many as the only midfielder currently playing to replaced veteran Paul Scholes, 36, who is expected to retire at the end of the season.
