Manchester United are ready to launch a £25 Million bid to lure Wesley Sneijder away from Italian champions Inter Milan. At the age of 26, the highly-talented Dutch midfielder is growing frustrated at the guidance of the club by new manager Leonardo and is reported to be seeking a long-term move to Old Trafford…

Last summer, The Reds were said to have failed in a £29 Million bid for Wesley Sneijder. One year later, Inter Milan are prepared to let the Holland International leave the San Siro for £25 Million. A host of problems have combined to force the club into such turmoil that they are ready to sell their best player. With José Mourinho joining Real Madrid, Rafa Benitez added to the woes of the Italian giants – leaving Leonardo to pick up the pieces.

Currently, the new Brazilian manager isn’t capable of what is being asked of him; as reigning Italian and European champions Inter are struggling in Serie A and were recently knocked-out of the UEFA Champions League by FC Schalke 04. Star midfielder Sneijder is now disheartened at Inter – and according to press in Milan, he wants out – despite signing a new 5-year contract with the club late last year.

Sir Alex Ferguson is a big admirer of Sneijder, who turns 27 in the summer. United are rumoured to be contemplating a £25 (€28) Million bid for the 2010 FIFA World Cup finalist, with Inter hierarchy leaning towards selling their most prized asset. Sneijder, 10 years younger than the following, is seen by many as the only midfielder currently playing to replaced veteran Paul Scholes, 36, who is expected to retire at the end of the season.

How can we sign anyone when we are in MASSIVE debt?

Fri, 22 Apr 2011 4:33:31 pm

we could be in the that big Debt otherwise fergie would walked buy now . he knows he has money to spend this will be the summer we will spend

Fri, 22 Apr 2011 4:33:52 pm

Don’t know Karl, maybe because we have £130 Million+ cash reserves in the bank for purchasing players ?

I thought the Glazers instilled a youth policy? So no big money buys for players over a certain age. Didn’t they?

Fri, 22 Apr 2011 4:37:34 pm

27 I think the age is/was. However, we signed Dimitar Berbatov at 27 years of age – so it’s negotiable.

Anyway, Sneijder is only 26 at the moment. A 10-years-younger-version of Scholesy would be nice !

Beacuase Karl, Manchester United is a business. We are not going to simply stop signing players are we. Yes the club as a whole is in ‘MASSIVE’ debt but obviously money will be put aside for transfers to bring in players to win matches hence generating revenue and slowly getting us out of debt you absolute IDIOT!

Sneijder would be the holy grail of all signings for us. Not holding my breath but we will be signing players in the summer.

Do everyone a favour Karl Pillock and dont comment on another story unless you have something constructive to say. God i hate morons!

@karl

You can still buy a new car while you have a mortgage.

Mortgage = large debt.
Car = new toy.

Hence United can buy Sneijder while having big corporate debts. Would you wait until your mortgage is paid off before you go shopping to Tesco?

Doh!

Karl Pilkington

Fri, 22 Apr 2011 4:52:41 pm

No, but I would only buy the bare essentials, no luxury food items. i.e. We wont have many big signings over the summer.

that is a promising story I hope it happens but I don’t trust the Glazers. Can the the FA force them to sell the club like the commissioner of NFL if the still have to much debt?

Fri, 22 Apr 2011 10:35:56 pm

The FA can’t even force clubs to abide by current rules, so they won’t have any luck trying to apprehend owners. The NFL is just so much more organised.

borba

Fri, 22 Apr 2011 11:16:08 pm

@united latest yes in that aspect but not in labor negotiations. The players are on strike so no off season prep and the players took the nfl to court because they can not agree on the collective bargain agreement so it up to the judge if we have an nfl season in america this years or not that’s why I love real Football and Manchester United I haven’t heard of players going on strike yet.

Wesley will be a massive signing for us, just need a big holding man in midfield to, even though hargreaves could be bk. having spoken to him outside carrington today he is aiming to be playing in reserve game against arsenal this thursday. Hargreaves and Sniejder and fletch would make a great three man midfield and leave the likes of spineless carrick on the bench and gibson playing somewhere like villa. this summer will see 3 or 4 top class players arriving and a fair few departing!!!!

danny boy did you wait outside the the training ground or do you work there?

Wes would be the perfect signining. It feels SAF has two more seasons in him. And I think je wants to leave a squad that doesn’t need to be touched.
Players in/return I hope to see Wes, Young, Rolando wellbeck, kiko, cleverly
Players sold berba Owen scholes Brown. With Gibo, obertan and bebe loaned out
If we could get Hargreaves on a pay as you play it would be fantastic, re watched the European cup final and he is what we need defensively.

However if we won the champions league this year I could see SAF wanting to stick around to try and make it a least 5 times winners to equal the scum very I interesting and scary times ahead for united

according to sources Man united meet Sneijder agent weeks ago. and now Man united are Closing in on Sneijder for a fee of 30 Million

Giggs is legend

Sat, 23 Apr 2011 10:24:53 am

Money Cnt buy team spirit. Midfielder such as Wesley is what we need. We spent over 30 million on berba so I think if we win the domestic league we sure can manage 26 million. I hope we sign him he is class. But I Dnt see him playing along side carrick. Anyway I Have faith in saf.

Sat, 23 Apr 2011 10:57:54 am

How can some of you moan when it’s 25 million ! That’s nothing , carrick 17 million he’s shit and hargraves 18 million played less than 40 games !
He’s world class an will sort our weak middle now we need a new keane and we will be amazing once again.

Cnt c many big sighnings myself maybe or hopefuly wesly but remember we recently did that deal that would allow us first choice on the talented young brazilians frm sao paulo which tels me wer not afta spending big,but i do hope for wesly its our midfeild we need t sort forsure im also concernd about rio hes never realy fit for long enough for example if hed been fit f most of this season i feel the title would already b in the bag coz his and vidic partnership tgetha more often this season would of won it already

You know what! If the glazers dont give alex the money to buy sneijder. Theyre in bug trouble.

Mon, 25 Apr 2011 8:32:21 am

Right lads, I’m going to apologise on my behalf…I misinterpreted what my reliable source told me and I am now going to tell you myself even though its not been made Official yet.

A deal was done last Tuesday and will be announced in a few more weeks (End of the season)

This deal is the takeover by Qatar Holdings and its bye bye The Glazers, we’ll be debt free and the club will continue to run itself…and along with the takeover will be a massive amount of funds for us to sign World Class players.

if it’s true Qatar royal family take over we don’t need huge amounts of cash and with a manager like sir alex will spend wisely. on the sneijder signing that would be a huge signing for us and he is without a doubt the best midfielder in the world. like others have said though we need a quality defensive midfielder like a Roy Keane to do the dirty work like a makalele. there’s that lad from Lyon he looks a real talent
we need to buy neur too and I’d Like to see Ashley young at utd
players out carrick Gibson Owen Evans oberton bebe berbatov fletcher and possibly nani real are sniffing round and inter and ac can’t wait for the end of season to see who we will buy

Mon, 25 Apr 2011 2:56:44 pm

Its good knowing that your club can throw money around like confetti and compete again in the transfer market (Hello City)

Sneijder already a done deal and Utd now are in contention of snatching Javier Mascherano from FCBarcelona and there’s more to come 🙂
