Manchester United resume training at the Carrington Training Centre on Monday, July 4th. The Premier League Champions start their pre-season preparations, before jetting to America on July 11th for The Red Devils’ 2011 month-long, five-match summer tour of The United States… United’s Premier League winning footballers, plus new additions Philip Jones, Ashley Young and David De Gea, arrive at Carrington on Monday morning for pre-season training. Most players have been spending the past month on holidays, but the likes of Mexico striker Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez has spent his time helping his national team lift the American Gold Cup. Meanwhile, some have been given additional rest and others have International duty. Chicharito will be given a well-deserved rest by Sir Alex Ferguson after his heroics for Mexico, while Antonio Valencia could be absent beyond July 24th depending on how Ecuador fair in the CONMEBOL Copa America in Argentina. The Reds will be back in Manchester for 7 days (July 4th to July 11th), before travelling to Boston for the club’s second successive tour of The United States Of America, having spent last summer touring The States. Sir Alex’s Red Army will stay in The USA for the rest of the month of July, playing New England Revolution, Seattle Sounders, Chicago Fire, The MLS All-Stars and Barcelona. In August it’s back to Old Trafford for Paul Scholes’ Testimonial on the 5th, against the New York Cosmos, before taking on arch-rivals Manchester City in the Community Shield at Wembley Stadium. The season begins on August 13th away to West Bromwich Albion. CommentsMon, 04 Jul 2011 1:54:28 am Can’t wait for some new exciting United action.
