Michael Owen injured his thigh 8 minutes into the 2-0 home win over Romanian side Otelul Galati in Europe a fortnight ago, and as a result will miss about 2 months altogether. From this date, Owen will remain on the bench for at least another month and a half. The striker has become accustomed to picking up injuries in the latter stages of his career, but maintains an outstanding goalscoring record for The Red Devils in less important competitions.
