Lindegaard Begins Reds Training 20/12/2010
![]() It may have been -12°C in Carrington this morning, but that didn’t stop Denmark native Anders Lindegaard kitting-out for his first training session with Manchester United. The 26-year-old goalkeeper will train until January, before our new signing is eligible to play for the club… New arrival Lindegaard joined The Red Devils for £3.5 Million from Norway side Aalesund in November, on a 3½ deal. The 26-year-old Denmark International goalie put pen to paper outside of the transfer windows, and so can only play for United in January, when the market reopens. Lindegaard is seen as an eventual successor of Edwin Van Der Sar, who hit 40 years of age in October. Lindegaard trained with first team goalkeeping coaches, led by Eric Steele, on Monday. He then joined first team players in some training exercises ahead of the game with Sunderland on Sunday the 26th. Departed Reserve team manager and former United legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said of Lindegaard recently: “It’s dangerous to say but he’s very good with his feet which reminds me of Edwin. Lindegaard can pick out players and that’s one of the strengths of his game. I like that about him.” Discuss This In Our Forum !
