Sir Alex with Qatar sports enthusiasts
According to the Sunday papers, The Glazer Family are to meet Qatar Holdings in America this week. Despite the club’s owners saying they will not sell-out, they could well be tempted to cut their losses and accept a £1.5 Billion bid for the world’s most valuable sports club…

The Sunday Mirror alleges that The Glazers will host lawyers from Qatar Holdings, an investment vehicle belonging to the Qatar Royal Family and the Qatar Investment Authority, during the week in Florida. The Arab investors are set to offer £1.5 Billion for Malcolm Glazer’s family share in The Red Devils. A further £1 Billion will be set aside for the running of the club if the deal goes through.

Any form of agreement is likely to take up the first quarter of 2011 to complete, but it is understood the Qataris have been eyeing United for some time, and are now ready to swoop. The nation will host the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and want to increase their presence in the footballing world.

They have already secured a £125 Million sponsorship deal with Barcelona, while former Blackburn Rovers manager Sam Allardyce is wanted by the Qatar FA to manage their national football team.

Despite a Glazer Family spokesperson ruling-out the sale of the Premier League leaders, it is only a matter of time before they sell, financial experts have said. All will become clear in the next few months, but it is likely that the press will get a sniff of what happens across the pond in America during the week. We should know more by then.

If this deal goes through. Maybe buy Ronaldo back and buy a die hard midfielder with deadly vision plus another central defender. We will rock back into the sunlight

this will be good i think? bcoz United will still be in charge of everything at United unlike our noisy neighbour… the new owner will only be the owner… and the football stuff should be handle by SAF & others…

Hi, I don’t meant to put a damper on everyone’s apparent euphoria but I wouldn’t be terribly happy if the Arabs get our club. For all the Glazer’s greed, they have largely left the management of the club alone. Because of the much-publicized debt, players joining the club have had to be realistic about their wage demands (bar Rooney) and transfer fees and wages paid by United have not reached the ridiculously inflated sums that City are paying out. With the Arabs in, are United going to be forced to start paying silly money for above average players because the Arab owners are viewed as having an inexhaustible mountain of cash? Would the owners interfere with Sir Fergie’s judgment when it comes to making player purchases? Building a successful team is not just about buying a team of galacticos as Real and City have found out. Now, here’s the thing…if all these things happen and the fans (maybe even the manager) think that the Arabs owners are bad for the club, there would really be nothing that can be done to get them out. Since they have obscene amounts of money, they don’t have to and won’t want to sell. United would be their plaything and trophy to show off to the rest of the world. IS THAT WHAT WE REALLY WANT???? I fervently hope the Red Knights put together a similar bid and buy over the club instead….sigh…but it’s not going to happen is it?

yes I can see where you are coming from mate but I don’t think that utd as a club would go crazy like city. we need to compete for world class players we have missed out on some in the past few years I.e van der vaart come on 8m isn’t over inflated. we as a team don’t need to buy stupidly priced players like city or Chelsea we need a world class midfielder and a world class keeper and a striker were pretty strong everywhere else. then invest in local home grown talent. personally I think fergie wouldnt allow it to be run like city. they will invest unlike the glaziers we wouldn’t be in debt anymore, we are the biggest club in the world and need to attract the biggest and best players.

I really think that we will not buy every1 well will think about who we need and then buy we dnt need a full new team we need 2 or 3 players that’s all we can not Evan come close 2 what city will pay at this time but if this happens we dnt Evan have 2 worry that’s y it would help

I think this is a good thing becoz like the person above said They will only own the club not mess around with the management, United is a massive business brand and they want it to build up Qatar for the future, oil won’t last forever and United will make them money and Qatar Airways and Qatar holidays will soon be plastered all over united.

First of all it is still too early judge what is going to happen. But with speculations, maybe it will force the glazers to sell? SAF is a man with great vision and like to build long term success, hence it is unlikely that he will spend unnecessarily and be ripped off for overprice players.. Man shity and Chelsea throwing big money for players was due to the very fact that new managers are pressured to bring in success in the shortest possible time. And why do we have to use vulgarities on each other?? We’re fans of ManUtd and we are just voicing our concern for the club right ppl? Hence let’s try to peace things out ya? Cheerz lads.

This is in reaction to what Xeni said how can man u go down if you knew anything about football in the first place you would see man city are doing better than expected.our only shortfall at the moment is not being able to compete with the now big spending clubs like city real and barca.if we can be bought out and clear all debts then man u will be unstoppable.we won’t need a new manager we already have the best.and with that quite a strong squad.we would simply be adding to an already great club.BRING ON THE BUYOUT……
