Fabio Capello, Sir Alex Ferguson
England manager Fabio Capello has hailed Sir Alex Ferguson as the greatest manager of all time. Fergie surpasses Sir Matt Busby’s tenure of 24 years and 43 days, becoming the longest serving manager of The Reds. Capello gave his blessing for the Scot to continue for ‘another 20 years’…

On Sunday, Sir Alex reached Sir Matt’s landmark record of 24 years and 43 days in charge of United. The boss now holds the record of the longest serving manager in British football history. Ferguson has won 35 titles since taking over in 1986, success that is unparalleled worldwide.

Sir Alex turns 69 on the 31st of December, leading The Red Devils to even more glory. England boss Fabio Capello gave his thoughts on the gaffer… “In the history of football, the best manager is Sir Alex. For such a long time he managed the team and he has changed a lot of things.”

“He changed the team, he changed the players, he has been really, really good for the club.” he added. “I wish him another 20 years of management at the top level !”

Fergie would have marked the occasion by facing Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, had that match not been controversially cancelled.
