Fergie Retains Wesley Sneijder Hope – Report 11/06/2011
United Latest understands that Sir Alex Ferguson remains confident of luring midfielder Wesley Sneijder away from Inter Milan. Sneijder has reversed his stance on a possible move to Old Trafford, saying ‘only God will decide where my future lies’. The 27-year-old midfielder could cost upwards of £30 Million… Sneijder is seen as one of Manchester United’s main transfer targets for the summer, with boss Sir Alex putting his faith in the 27-year-old playmaker to sign for The Red Devils and replace retired midfield veteran Paul Scholes. The Holland International has been the subject of interest from many of Europe’s biggest football clubs – but according to national team-mate and Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben – Sneijder wants to play for United. Despite intense speculation over his future, Wes recently ruled himself out of a switch to Manchester or London, where United, Manchester City and Chelsea are all keen on the 2010 FIFA World Cup ace. But this weekend, Sneijder has again changed his mindset on a move away from Italy. “The Inter fans have always treated me very well. They were wonderful and I want to simply thank them. Only God will decide where my future lies.” he said. “I can be certain of one thing: If I remain at Inter, then I will give my all to win everything again. When you have had the greatest and most surprising year of your life (treble of 2010), it’s only natural that the next will be less rewarding. Not everything can be perfect. I had fun in my second year with Inter and was satisfied, even if we didn’t win everything. At least this way we still have a few more objectives to reach. I love Inter with all my heart.” Sneijder is under contract with Inter Milan until early summer of 2015, and therefore the Serie A powerhouse have placed an asking price of £30 Million on his head. Sir Alex will have spent nearly £60 Million of a reported £125 Million transfer kitty by July, with David De Gea (£20 Million), Phil Jones (£17 Million) and Ashley Young (£20 Million) all joining The Theatre Of Dreams within weeks. Jones will sign despite reports of a late Liverpool offer. CommentsTRANSFER NEWS Sun, 12 Jun 2011 6:41:49 pm WHY WOULD HE SAY THANKS INTER FANS . HE IS LEAVING . WHEN WILL WE MAKE A BID DO YOU KNOW deano Sun, 12 Jun 2011 7:00:59 pm hope he comes to o.t to make it 20 Dubstep Sun, 12 Jun 2011 7:22:27 pm 27 n were gna spend 20mill plus JordanBelfast Sun, 12 Jun 2011 7:29:05 pm Would be a great signing, we definitely need a creative midfielder one of attacking quality Ranks Sun, 12 Jun 2011 7:32:15 pm Sounds like he’s saying goodbye to Inter fans. Read an interview with him a year ago in which he said both he and Mourhinio both talked about eventually being at United, so it seems United is in his heart too. As for the story about the Jones deal being hijacked by a last minute bid from Liverpool, there’s no football being played and the papers have pages to fill and have to write something. Still think we need Modric or Nasri even if Wes signs, as we had 4 players either retiring or released at end of season. Jw97 Sun, 12 Jun 2011 8:12:32 pm I hope we sign sneijder, young, jones and 1 more signing, should be able to get the prem again and the champs league next season. Kas Sun, 12 Jun 2011 8:59:43 pm City to open talks with Sanchez in next 24hours for £26m according to daily star.. JordanBelfast Sun, 12 Jun 2011 9:38:29 pm @ranks @ranks..would you like to see mourinho at United? I would be quite sceptical about having him, dont get me wrong hes a top manager and could win us trophies but I would like a manager who will want to stay for a long period of time and not move onto another project, what I worry most about when fergie retires is that we could lose that stability which we’ve had for so long. David Sun, 12 Jun 2011 10:04:08 pm GET HIM PLEASE red devil dxb Sun, 12 Jun 2011 10:49:14 pm 2 b honest i would rather have sanchez over this guy, a young player under fergie is what united is all about. 30 mil 4 a 27 year old quality player or 30 mil 4 a 22 year old quality player Bullshit u dick Sun, 12 Jun 2011 11:51:47 pm U r bullshit did fergie not. Ranks Mon, 13 Jun 2011 7:06:05 am Jordan, like yourself I’m not sure about Jose as his style of play is at odds with the Manchester United way. Hopefully Fergie will be around for another few years whilst his health is good, so we shouldn’t worry just at the minute, though in reality nobody lasts forever. Great city btw, that’s where I’m from too mate red devil dxb Mon, 13 Jun 2011 10:59:54 am anya we would be luck if we get either wes, luka or nasri Face Mon, 13 Jun 2011 11:08:54 am Jw97-1 more signing I hope to be Alexis Sanchez Face Mon, 13 Jun 2011 11:10:50 am Nasri n Sanchez-both wal be very…very gud.. Dnt let him go to bercelona,go for him. I want hm next season LackyMUFC Mon, 13 Jun 2011 10:19:04 pm We bought Berba for £30m+ and how old was he!? Plus that statement from Sneijder is so ambiguous, he’s not ruled out a move and he’s kept inter sweet! He said he’d give his all “if he stays at Inter” – in my eyes thats pretty much goodbye! And there may be other younger players out there, but Fergie buys proven experienced players now and then, plus in my eyes there could still be room for Nasri! If £10m is a true valuation then why not? Moses Fri, 17 Jun 2011 8:34:28 am I will be happy if United can get Both Sanchez And Wesley Sneijder … Comments are closed. |
