Ji-Sung Park has agreed a new, 2-year deal with The Champions that keeps him at Old Trafford until the end of the 2012/2013 season. The 30-year-old South Korean penned a 1-year contract extension on Friday, that adds to his pre-existing arrangement which had one year remaining. Park has long been considered as an ‘unsung hero’, but with a new lucrative wage package, the midfielder will have little to worry about on the financial side of things… Park joined Manchester United from PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2005 for a bargain £4 Million, following a highly successful spell with Japanese side Kyoto Purple Sanga. In the winter of 2009, Ji-Sung netted a 4-year contract worth £65,000-per-week, a deal he has been on since then. Running out in 2012, CEO David Gill offered him a fruitful new salary and two more years over the summer, which Park has now accepted and finds ‘satisfactory’. The former South Korean captain – who has made close to 200 appearances, scoring 24 goals for the Premier League holders – pronounced his happiness with the fresh deal: “I have enjoyed every minute of my time at Manchester United. I’m delighted to be part of the club during this latest stage in its history – with another exciting young team being built. I’m looking forward to playing my part in keeping United at the top of the game.” Sir Alex Ferguson, who is currently short of midfielders, added: “Ji has been an important player for us for a number of years now. He has great ability and energy and in recent seasons has added the knack of scoring important goals in big games.” The gaffer went on to stress Park’s likeable character: “He is a popular member of the squad and his experience at domestic and international level is invaluable for the younger players.” Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez is next in the queue for a new contract. so at last fergies said no sneijder or anyone else in midfield this transfer window,so to all the ‘experts’ on this blog who were 100% sure sneijder or nasri would join us well your all wrong,i new from the beginning we would not sign a central midfielder, may be same old story in champs league again, barca win cl and then sign sanchez and fabregas they are even stronger, the manager said he wanted to catch barca how can he with this midfield.

I somehow don’t think the Sneidjer transfer is a dead duck. United are playing hardball and testing his desire to join by dropping his wage demands. If they give him what he wants it could cause problems in the dressing room with some players not even getting a third of what hes demanding. This story may run on to 31st August like it did with Berbatov

Tevez could actually do us a favour if he throws the toys out of the pram. Inter want Tevez and Tevez wants out of City, but Inter are skint having made a €500 million LOSS in last 3 years ( you think we have problems??) and can’t buy Tevez unless they sell Sneidjer to get the funds up. But both Inter and Sneidjer have too high valuation on the player and wage demands for Uniteds liking, who technically are calling the shots in the whole transfer merry-go-round. Cue Inter telling Sneidjer to wise up and decrease his wage demands and a temper tantrum from Tevez…………… Stranger things have happened 😉

Ha, just read on the United website that Fergie is promoting Pogba to the first team squad. Either that’s a part of Fergies mind game with Inter and Sneidjer to drop their prices or hes definitely not joining as Fergie has belief in the youngsters coming through

Well deserved contract for a good and useful player. Like Fletcher, he rarely lets the midfield down.

I’m sure the man we call SAF knows better than amateurs like us. Sneider is not messi is he? If sneider was imperative to our squad saf would pat Watever the amount. Besides if man united have bought stars would players like scholes the nevilles butt etc would have given the opportunity? I Dnt say Tom cleverly is the new scholes but he’s got talent pace and half the vision of Paul scholes. Wish the lad luck and forget about 27 yrs old sneider.

i think the snejder deal is dead, i would NOT pay so much for a player t, i have said from the beginning that de rossi and goetze would be better or douglas cosat, there are many options out there . i have never seen popga play but from what i’ve heard he is amazing so i hope he and cleverly play alot in the premier league and hopefully they will be ready for the champions league
