Eric Cantona’s Call To ‘Destroy’ The Banks 21/11/2010
![]() Former Manchester United superstar Eric Cantona has called on people worldwide to withdraw all their money from banks on December 7th to put a stop to the misery of the worldwide recession caused by the banks. His campaign has gained support in France, Britain and Ireland to date… Cantona was interviewed by local newspaper Presse Océan in Nantes last week, in which he spoke about his work with housing charity, ‘Abbé Pierre Foundation’. However, he soon went on a rant about the way in which the power of banking across the world has landed millions upon millions of people unnecessary ‘misery’. The 44-year-old former Reds legend told the newspaper in a televised interview that he wanted people to go to their ATM on December 7th and withdraw all their savings. He said it would spark a revolution in which people will be freed from misery piled on them by the banks. ‘Destroy The Banks’ – King Eric“I don’t think we can be entirely happy seeing such misery around us. Unless you live in a pod. But then there is a chance… there is something to do. Nowadays what does it mean to be on the streets, to demonstrate ? – You swindle yourself. Anyway, that’s not the way any more.” Cantona said. “We don’t pick up weapons to kill people to start the revolution. The revolution is really easy to do these days. What’s the system ? – The system is built on the power of the banks. So it must be destroyed through the banks. This means that the 3 million people with their placards on the streets, they go to the bank and they withdraw their money and the banks collapse. 3 million, 10 million people, and the banks collapse and there is no real threat. A real revolution.” “We must go to the bank. In this case there would be a real revolution. It’s not complicated – instead of going on the streets and driving kilometres by car you simply go to the bank in your country and withdraw your money, and if there are a lot of people withdrawing their money the system collapses. No weapons, no blood, or anything like that,” he adds: “It’s not complicated and in this case they will listen to us in a different way. Trade unions ? – Sometimes we should propose ideas to them.” Support for the campaign has grown in Cantona’s former footballing countries – France and England, as well as in Ireland, where the country is in financial turmoil.

Bertbert Sun, 21 Nov 2010 7:03:55 pm I only have $55 & I’m withdrawing all of it. I also got all my kins & mates to do the same thing. Every little effort helps… cantonadinho Sun, 21 Nov 2010 8:13:08 pm what about leaving just 1 penny, (1 cent) or whatever… that means the banks still have to operate the account… so it costs them more to operate… what to do with the money? everyone put their money into a pot and buy out one bank which we then run ourselves, the others will disappear… then make the bankers responsible eat dog crap on live tv and a youtube live cast… joebiz Sun, 21 Nov 2010 8:41:54 pm this has to be the stupidest thing i have ever heard. jide Sun, 21 Nov 2010 8:56:35 pm Simply stupid. Muggers everywhere would be loving it. BRIAN Mon, 22 Nov 2010 3:36:49 am YOU KNOW, IT WOULD WORK, NO MATTER WHAT WANKERS POSTING NEGATIVE RESPONSES SAY, IT WILL WORK IF WE PRACTICE SOLIDARITY. stece Mon, 22 Nov 2010 12:56:44 pm well i from ireland and fully agree with king eric . the banks should go to hell a long with the goverement. anyway there all wores things happeing in the world than paying few extra money to the tax men and what have yae LackyMUFC Mon, 22 Nov 2010 4:55:13 pm Write in capitals all you want, it wouldnt work!! Think of the amount of normal people employed by banks, there must hundreds of thousands. They would join the dole queue costing the government (and us) millions. mark s Mon, 22 Nov 2010 6:23:19 pm I love Cantona but… I agree with LackyMUFC. I love the sentiment and love the idea of making the banks suffer but ultimately the rich little so and so’s will walk away rubbing their hands with glee. If you want to see an example of this get the dvd, “Enron: the smartest guys in the room” from amazon etc. They screwed the system up well before the recent collapse and the richest walked away whilst the poor lost their livelihoods. The problem lies with the fact that the bank’s money is re-invested elsewhere, so no money to invest, then the share prices all crash. Jobs are cut yet again. Anarchy once more. I don’t want more recession, I want a happy state of stability for once and so do millions of others worldwide! Norris74 Tue, 23 Nov 2010 10:48:22 am Yeah, Mr. Cantona has perfectly right, and this is what I always saying to my fellows also. The recent economical and political systems’ “heart” the banking system, so if he (we) would kick out the chair under the banking system, the whole world wide shit going to collaps sooner or later. Hopefully sooner, and the peoples going to be able to build up on it’s ruins a better and more ture relocations system. Without interrest, witout inflation, without extra-profit and so forth. kevthered Tue, 23 Nov 2010 6:01:57 pm spot on eric this is the new way to protest lets bring these huge parasite banks to their knee.s so on 7 12 10 move your money out and put it in co op or a small independant building society be part of new way to get some control in our lives Mon, 29 Nov 2010 9:18:32 pm Le Run on The Bank. Mon, 29 Nov 2010 9:20:48 pm Le Run on The Bank. Wed, 01 Dec 2010 12:07:23 pm Money with the « FIAT currency model » is the trick to stole everything.
