Javier Hernandez with Sir Alex Ferguson
Sir Alex Ferguson has put a stop to rumours stating that Javier Hernandez and Kiko Macheda would go out on loan this season. The boss said it is ‘imperative’ to keep both strikers at the club, who between them scored 3 goals against the MLS All-Stars on Wednesday night…

Hernandez scored a debut goal for the club at the Reliant Stadium in Houston, while Kiko bagged an early brace to lead United to a 5-2 victory over the best players in the MLS League.

“I need to keep Macheda and Hernandez, there was a lot of purpose in the way they played their football. To play for a club like this is not just about talent. You need something else and they’ve got something else. I am pleased with that.” stated the gaffer.

Talking about a partnership between Wayne Rooney and Chicharito, Sir Alex said: “If we are talking about a combination with Wayne, I think we would need to adjust a bit. They are similar types of players. We will assess Hernandez really well and make sure we can bring him to good consistent form. There are still little things to do but not a great deal. One he gets used to our training I think he will be okay.”

Meanwhile, Danny Welbeck is expected to travel to Newcastle on-loan, with Birmingham reported to be after Mame Biram Diouf…

Hernandez and Macheda were superb with the goals. It’s not a bad idea to give exposure to these players than going for another expensive signing. Diouf and Welbeck didn’t look like scoring much and they are better off away on loan. It will be interesting to see how SAF juggles with the 5 strikers he got. I wonder if Owen will get as many chances like he did last season. There is competition upfront.
