Manchester United are to play the winners of the Arsenal v Leyton Orient replay in The FA Cup Quarter-Finals at Old Trafford. The Red Devils narrowly made it through to the 6th Round following their 1-0 victory over non-league Crawley Town at home on Saturday, but it didn’t go so well for The Gunners…
Wes Brown’s 28th minute headed effort was enough to see United progress to the Quarter-Finals of The FA Cup, seeing off a tough challenge from Crawley Town. The Reds were chosen to play the winners of the 5th Round tie between Leyton Orient and Arsenal at the Matchroom Stadium in London, however Jonathan Tehoue’s last-minute strike cancelled-out a second half Tomas Rosicky goal – forcing a replay at The Emirates.
The Red Devils are going all-out to win the prestigious trophy this season, having not won it since 2004. They will play host to The Gunners or Orient on either Saturday 12th/Sunday 13th of March once the replay is decided. This is Arsene Wenger’s second replay in two competitions – and is bound to assist United in the Premier League title race, with Arsenal most likely suffering fatigue after the replay, and latterly a trip to the Nou Camp to face Barcelona in Europe.
