Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez marked his Champions League debut with a winning goal on Wednesday night, hailing it as a ‘dream come through’. The little 22-year-old Mexican striker was brought 10 minutes from time, netting a late strike against Valencia in Spain…

The Reds struggled to get a decent attack together on Wednesday, as they were nearly held to a stalemate by Spanish League leaders Valencia. Los Che arguably had the best chances of the night, but shied away on front of goal. The game could have went either way, but it was Chicharito who managed to get his strike away in the 85th minute to win the game 1-0 for United.

“It was a great night. I am so happy about the goal but also it was important to get the win and three points. I am glad I was able to play my part in the win. But our defence was very solid tonight. We appreciate that as players up front.” said the Mexican International.

“I used to watch the Champions League at home in Mexico,” explained Chicha. “It is one of the most important tournaments in the world and to score in it, so early in my United career, is a dream come true, and a big boost. It will give me so much confidence.”

Despite Chicha doing most of the work in the box himself, he paid credit to Luis Nani and Kiko Macheda, who built-up play for the starlet’s winner. “It was some great play by Nani to keep the ball and then he set Kiko away. It was a great ball in from him and I was able to put it away.”

“I am settling in well in Manchester. I have been learning and working hard because I want to do well here, I am very motivated. I am enjoying it, it’s great to be a United player, and I want it to continue for a long time.” he added…
