Vidic Lined-Up For Liverpool Return 14/10/2011
Sir Alex Ferguson is undecided to as when Nemanja Vidic will make his comeback from injury for The Red Devils, but his return could come as early as this Saturday at Anfield. United take on arch rivals Liverpool in a Premier League showdown, with all eyes on Internationally suspended striker Wayne Rooney... Vidic announced his retirement from the Serbian team on Tuesday, after making his first appearance on the field in 8 weeks. A calf problem in the opening League game of the season against West Bromwich Albion has kept the 29-year-old centre-back out of action for two months, but the club captain is now fit again. He may play against The Scousers at the weekend, as might Wayne Rooney - who was banned for 3 matches with the England side. ![]() Wayne Rooney in jovial mood at training Rooney lashed-out against a defender in England's 2-2 draw with Montenegro last week, and after his sending-off received a very harsh three game suspension from UEFA, which keeps him out of the opening Group Stage fixtures in the 2012 European Championships. Sir Alex kept his lips sealed on the contentious issue on Friday, responding to questions: "'I am here to talk about the Liverpool game, sorry." Tom Cleverley will not be rushed back into action against Liverpool, but Rafael Da Silva is back in first team training, and Patrice Evra, Fabio Da Silva and Ashley Young are all fit despite nursing injuries last weekend. The gaffer added: "The big question mark is whether Vidic is ready. He had his first game for Serbia on Tuesday. It’s certainly a consideration because he’s such a great competitor.
