Javier Hernandez has officially signed a new, 5-year contract with Manchester United after his agent revealed that his Mexican client had done so. The 23-year-old forward has made an incredible start to his Old Trafford career, scoring 20 goals in his first season at the club. Chicharito has made constant remarks about his awe at being at the biggest and best club in the world, distancing himself from any speculation of a move away from The Red Devils. Chicha has scored 3 vital goals this campaign, after his blistering form last term. Coming under pressure from Dimitar Berbatov last year, and now Danny Welbeck this year, Hernandez has always been able to maintain a place in the first team's starting XI. Javier has also become a hero in his home colours, having netted 22 goals in 32 games for Mexico. Chicharito has now tied himself to United until at least the end of the 2015/2016 season. "Playing for Manchester United has been a dream come true for me. I never expected my first year to go so well and I’m delighted to commit my future to United. To win a title and appear in a Champions League final was fantastic. I’m looking forward to helping my teammates as we bid to win more trophies for this great club..." insisted the striker. Hernandez is expected to earn a huge £80,000 per week, a far cry from his previous £20,000 weekly wage. Manager Sir Alex Ferguson couldn't hide his own emotions, saying: "The last player I remember making an impact as big and as quickly as Javier is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and he reminds me of Ole a lot. His talent for creating space in the box and his finishing ability mark him out as a natural goalscorer. Off the pitch, he is a pleasure to manage. He works very hard and is a popular member of the squad." And here's to 5 more successful years... CommentsRedScot 24/10/2011 10:50pm
