Alex Ferguson
The Barclays Manager Of The Month award for August was deservedly scooped by Sir Alex Ferguson. The United gaffer led his new-look side to wins over Manchester City, West Bromwich Albion, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal. His team scored 16 goals in these 4 matches, conceding just 5...

Sir Alex was deservedly handed the Premier League Manager Of The Month prize for a record 26th time, after a phenomenal start to the new season for The Red Devils. The FA Community Shield was won, while United currently topping the Barclays Premier League table. Wins over Man City (3-2), West Brom (2-1), Spurs (3-0) and Arsenal (8-2) were recorded in August, and a certain Red was unlucky not to have won the Player Of The Month gong.

The club has maintained a 100% win ratio ever since the Champions League final defeat to Barcelona. Wayne Rooney and Ashley Young were in the running for the monthly player award, with Rooney scoring 7 goals for club and country in his last 4 matches (and 5 goals in August), while Ash has netted 2 goals and set-up numerous more in the same time. Man City forward Edin Dzeko received the title, after a goalscoring beginning to the new campaign.

Ferguson's nearest competitor for monthly accolades is Gunners manager Arsene Wenger, with 11 awards, but even then he falls 15 times short to Fergie's haul. Sir Alex is chasing his 13th Premier League, 6th FA Cup, 5th Carling League Cup and 3rd Champions League this term, after winning his 10th Community Shield last month. The boss last won the Barclays Manager Of The Month award in January 2011, following up with the league trophy !

1 trophy, 4 wins, goal difference of +10. Personally, I think Mick McCarthy should have won it.

Agree with l33by. Though i think we still need 1 more big name midfielder , experienced to guide the powerful youngsters we have.
