Luis Nani
Luis Nani, realistically, wants to become to best footballer in the world, after his most fruitful season at Old Trafford yet. The 24-year-old does not want to be remembered for following in Cristiano Ronaldo's footsteps, but would like for fans to treat him for who is really is - Nani - soon to become the best ?...

Nani scored 10 goals last season, and assisted 15 more in the 33 matches he played for The Reds. He was hailed as the club's 'Players' Player Of The Year', and helped United to their 19th Barclays Premier League crown. He preformed well for Portugal also, scoring 3 goals and assisting 2 more in their International fixtures. Now, with 3 goals to his name in 4 appearances already, Nani has trained his sights on becoming the best player in the world !

"That’s one dream I’ve got: To be the best in the world. But I don’t let it frustrate me, I’m not like: 'I have to be the best in the world', I have other priorities like winning trophies with the team. Hopefully, when I have finished playing football, people will say 'Nani was a fantastic player who won a lot of titles and beat records at the club' or something like that. I know I have the condition to be among the select best players in the world." Nani told Inside United.

"I have to work hard and show that. Sometimes that doesn't happen, but what I can promise is that as long as I am a football player, I will do my best to try to get there." Reflecting on the comparison with Cristiano, Luis said: "For five years, every time the question is the same... It’s all about Ronaldo. You have to be him. Are you doing the same ?, Do you think you can do it now ? - Always when I do something good it’s the same."

"When I do okay, it’s nothing. When I do something very good, they come with this question about him. But it’s okay. It doesn’t change anything in me. This is my fifth year here and people know what I can do. Sometimes I play a nice game, sometimes I play not such a fantastic game, but I think everyone knows me and what I can do." Nani already scored against Manchester City (twice, Community Shield) and Arsenal (once, Premier League) in August.

I wouldn't put it past him either. Remember when Ronaldo was all Riverdance legs and no end product, then in the space of 2-3 seasons started to be compared with the likes of Messi? How a player develops is a unique process... it can either grow slowly or suddenly click.

i dont think he can be the very best but am sure he can improve to be compared to the very best. he doesnt have the selfish, single minded attitude the likes of Ronaldo have. dont mistake me that am stating that Nani is not talented enough and every team needs a balance of attitudes so good luck to him.

i think valencia would give us sme really good balance since both Nani and Young like popping infield not that i mind because i like the little triangles they form around opposition defenders. i believe our style of play doesnt favour the likes of hernandez who are used as decoy runners. the real winners are the mid fielders who do the late run that get the chances hence my opinion that nani and rooney will each score at least 25 gols this season

Definitely has the potential but there's still a long way to go. He has pace, power and skills but missing the most important piece which is decision making. You can tell from the frustration of team mates from time to time. He's still a selfish player in my opinion. Yes, he had the most assists last season but he could have doubled that tally if he's less selfish and made the right decisions. Also, cut out the diving and crying!

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see him becoming the best player in the world. I'm just being honest and think there's lots of room for improvement.

Good Luck son!
