I'm Only Getting Started - Nani 23/09/2011
Luis Nani firmly believes he can climb the ladder to the very top, following some exuberant performances for United this season. The 24-year-old Portuguese winger recently scored, undoubtedly, the best goal so far in the Barclays Premier League. Nani impressed as The Red Devils beat Chelsea 3-1 at Old Trafford... Nani left fly from long range into the top corner of Chelsea's goal in the 37th minute, following a wonderful build-up involving a cross-field pass from Jonny Evans. Chris Smalling and Wayne Rooney also netted for The Reds in a confidence boosting triumph against one of our closest rivals. It is unlikely that much goals will match that of Nani's last weekend this season in the Premier League. The winger has now 4 goals to his name in 7 games played. Luis was quoted: "Last year was my best year, definitely my most consistent season. Now I hope this is my year, I will do my best. If I am fit for every game, I am 100% sure I will do my best and will do well for my team. This is a big chance to show I can do much more; that I'm a good player with a very strong mentality. One dream I've got is to be the best in the world. But I don't let it frustrate me. I have other priorities like winning trophies with the team." Nani has now scored against Manchester City (twice, Community Shield), Arsenal (Premier League) and Chelsea (Premier League), putting to bed the big-game nerves theory. "Hopefully, when I have finished playing football, people will say 'Nani was a fantastic player who won a lot of titles and beat records at the club'. I know I have the condition to be among the select best players in the world but I have to work hard and show that." How many times have we heard this from Nani!? When will he realise it's not just about spectacular goals but TEAM WORK ethic. Park, Valencia & Young all know this, that is why Nani is 4th choice wide man IMO Comments are closed. |
