Chicharito and Wayne Rooney
Chicharito has returned to training following a horrendous tackle from Ashley Cole in United's 3-1 victory over Chelsea at Old Trafford last weekend. Sir Alex Ferguson condemned the challenge immediately after the Premier League clash, and feared Javier Hernandez could be out of action for weeks...

A thrilling game at The Theatre Of Dreams on Sunday saw The Red Devils beat their arch rivals Chelsea by 3-1, with goals from Chris Smalling, Luis Nani and Wayne Rooney. Fernando Torres netted a consolation for The Blues, before spurning a glorious opportunity on front of goal 'that your granny could have scored'. Rooney missed a penalty also, but The Reds were too strong for Andre Villas-Boas' side, who were outplayed and became increasingly frustrated.

That annoyance showed when defender Ashley Cole, who had been terrorised by the United attack resorted to a disgusting and intentionally harmful tackle on Chicharito in the box. Amazingly, referee Phil Dowd failed to send Cole off and also did not punish the offence as a penalty. Instead, he booked the perpetrator. Sir Alex hit-out at Ashley Cole's violent performance, and called on The FA to punish him retrospectively. They took no action.

It was feared Hernandez could be out for a couple of weeks with a right ankle problem, but this week those thoughts were put to bed. Javier's agent, Eduardo Hernandez, said his client returned to training on Wednesday and that his injury was nothing more than superficial. All the while Rio Ferdinand is fit again, while Danny Welbeck - who returned in the 3-0 win over Leeds United on Tuesday - also recovered, having sustained a hamstring injury weeks in the past.
