Wes Sneijder to Manchester United ?
Wesley Sneijder has given the biggest indication yet that he is about to sign for Manchester United. The £35 Million rated midfielder has told the media that current club Inter Milan will sell him 'for the right amount' of money. Sir Alex Ferguson is most keen on the 27-year-old Netherlands International...

Wes has been linked with a move to The Champions since last summer, as Paul Scholes first hinted at retirement. With Scholesy now out of the picture at Old Trafford, The Reds are keen to find a suitable and experienced replacement for their midfield talisman. Sneijder is seen by many as the only player worldwide capable to take the mantle in the heart of United's attack, after superb displays for Internazionale Milano and the Holland national team.

It is clear that Sir Alex and CEO David Gill are interested in purchasing one of Europe's best footballers, but it remains to be seen whether fee and salary agreements can be reached, despite newspapers claiming that both are arranged. Inter will sell their most prized asset for £35 Million, a figure which United are understood to be content in offering to the Italians. But there appears to be irregularities in the wage settlement between both parties.

Sneijder is currently earning around £220,000 every week, a sum our club will not justify to pay. David Gill has offered Sneijder just under £200,000-a-week, but his reps are not accepting the pay cut. Although this is all speculation, it seems as though both broadsheets and tabloids have come to the above consensus. A way around the dispute is currently being explored, with sponsors Nike claiming they'll help and image rights payments also mooted.

Wes Sneijder wants a step up in terms of football, Oranje teammate Rafael Van Der Vaart has revealed

Wesley Sneijder faces England (including five United players) in London this Wednesday, where Red Devil officials could convene a meeting with the player and his agents. He expects his future to come to head within the next week one way or another. Local rivals Manchester City - beaten by our lads 3-2 at Wembley at the weekend - have also been linked, but Roberto Mancini quickly denied that his 'kamikaze spending' crew are after Wes.

New United signing Ashley Young hailed Sneijder as a 'terrific player' on Monday in England's pre-match International press conference. Meanwhile, national teammate and Tottenham Hotspur ace Rafael Van Der Vaart recently divulged that the Nerazzurri star has his heart set on The Theatre Of Dreams and is relishing the possibility of playing Premier League football. Celebrity wife Yolanthe Cabau Van Kasbergen is also open to an English TV career.

Sneijder and his wife are both fully fluent in English. "All I know is that Inter need money and apparently I'm for sale for the right amount," the player said over the weekend. "Manchester haven't spoke with me officially yet, well, maybe unofficially. Next week I play with the Dutch against England, and then I have five days off. I hope that then everything will be cleared up at that time." What an addition he could be to our already strong side...

From Joost Peeters, Holland
@SheriffSjarrol

http://nos.nl/video/popup/262768-kans-bestaat-dat-inter-me-laat-gaan.html

Wesley Sneijder = WS
Journalist = JO

JO: What does the future hold?

WS: In that opinion the situation has changed because I don't know what the future will bring. At this point I am a player for Inter and there's a big chance I will still be that on the 31st of August. There is a chance that i will leave but that has to do with eh...

JO: That has to do with you?

WS: No, not with me but more with Inter. Inter was very clear when they said: 'If a club makes a good offer we have to let you go.' They dont want to let me go, but there is a possibility that at that point (Aug 31st) they will let me go.

JO: But at that point you are the second person that has to say if you want to leave or not, so do you want that ?

WS: Well, eh, I dont know, thats why I say: 'Im a player for Inter and there is a big chance I will still be that at the end of August'. And if there will be an offer for me then I have still enough time to decide what I will do.

JO: But as we speak at this moment, when Manchester United would say they want you then your answer would be yes, I think so?

WS: Yes, but Manchester haven't spoke with me that official yet.

JO: And did they speak with you unofficially yet?

WS: Well, maybe unofficially.

JO: But with you ?.. Because is there contact with you and Manchester ?.. Off course there is, yes ?

WS: Contact is there always, I have contact with everybody, you know who I am. But that is nothing serious happening at this moment now. I am here now and I will go inside to see the boys that a havent seen for a long time and thats where my focus is at this moment. And again, still player for Inter and now fine with the Dutch international team.

JO: You will go with the players to England, will you also come back with those players ?

WS: You mean back to the Netherlands?

JO: Yes, or do you have some meetings with clubs in England ?

WS: Eh... I dont know, I mean...

JO: I already can hear it in your voice, your answer is yes isn't it ?

WS: I will leave the players after the match yes, at least if the coach lets me go. I have to go back of course.

I keep saying Sneidjer needs United more than we need him. It's the best Club in the world who wouldnt want to play at OT. It will be his loss if he goes to City. Look at Tevez can not get away fast enough

We don't need him.

Too much of a gamble. At 27yr age, having never played in the EPL, there is a good possibility that he will need time to settle. By the time we see the best of him he will be approaching his 30's.

Give the youth a go. Cleverley looks ready to step up, but if we still feel a need to strengthen in this area then i say look at younger options (Ganso, Gotze, Wilshire or even Nasri)

From the game against Man City, I can see the hunger from the younger ones...with Ashley and Nani, we have really great speed.

Cleverley needs more experience, so do Pogba and Morrison..and who better than Wes Sneijder to lead them?

@Dave No Young?? Back 5 picks itself, worried about Fletch to be honest. Lad can't stay fit and that virus keeps coming back. I'm loving the squad as is but experience needs to e replaced. I like Wes for his no nonsense approach. He's not a cryer like Tevez. I'd go Anderson Sneijder Young Rooney Valencia and Chico.. Cleverley WILL be great, but don't wanna get carried away. Let him play all carling matches, easier champs league and EPL matches.
