Luis Nani scores against Manchester City in the FA Community Shield
Luis Nani has reflected on the 2011 Community Shield victory against rivals Manchester City, branding his own performance as the best of his career to date. The 24-year-old Portuguese winger scored twice to tip the balance in Manchester United's favour at Wembley Stadium last Sunday...

Man City found themselves 2-0 ahead at the break in London, with goals from Joleon Lescott and Edin Dzeko putting The Blues in front against the run of play. But United came out strongest in the second half, Chris Smalling and Luis Nani drawing the annual curtain raiser level before the hour mark. With seconds to go in stoppage time, Nani broke free in midfield, raced past Joe Hart and tucked the ball into the goals to win The Red's 19th Community Shield.

United stretched their record further, claiming their 4th Community Shield (formerly 'Charity Shield') in 5 years, winning 15 outright and sharing 4. "I think it's fantastic because it is always a big derby. We were losing 2-0 but we came back to get the result. We played an excellent game and I scored 2 goals, I came out of there very happy and I think that was my best game ever because it was a final and because it gave us a trophy. I always give my best."

"I'm fine and I want to stay that way until the end of the season." Nani told the press this week. "I think United is the best club in the world and want to stay there and work well. It's good to know that big clubs are interested in me but - right now - I'm very satisfied with my club and I want to continue with them..." he denounced of reports stating the flanker could be moving elsewhere. The Shield man-of-the-match has been guaranteed a first team sport this term.

He was brilliant! Even the tackling (tackle against Yaya Toure then against Balotelli... wonderful)! If he plays like that, no one is challenging him on the right side!

Seriously, he weren't all that, watch it again!! Passing was shit, attempts at beatin a player weren't good! Second half he switched on, but it ain't good enough, he's been hit and miss since he signed! He has the talent to be world class, but when he disappears in a game like he does, especially big 1s he just ain't united standard!!! U all talk like he's a legend already, well see, it will be valencia and young, and I'll be confident we will win the league, nani is too much hit and miss!!!!

in total agreement with Carl. hate nani's dilly dallying on the ball. to say sunday was his best game for us says something. young's delivery from corners/free kicks is different class to nani who always hits the wall/first man at corners. if he just kept it simple more often he'd be alot better for us instead of over complicating things and losing the ball. on many occasions on sunday the simple pass was on but was ignored and although he scored twice, could have contributed alot more for the team if he wasn't so selfish.
