DHL sponsor Manchester United's training kits
Old Trafford's name will never be touched, but United will change the name of the club's world-famous training ground, Carrington, at the right price. The Red Devils recently secured a £40 Million 4-year deal with DHL for space on the training kits, and now the training ground's naming rights are up for tender...

DHL, the globe's largest courier, will pay United £10 Million per annum for the next 4 years to sponsor the team's training apparel. The deal was a first for Premier League football, and although other teams will attempt to follow The Red's lead, most cannot even make £40 Million over the same period for their first-team shirt sponsor. Now, in what would be another ground-breaker, United are offering the sponsorship rights to 'Fortress Carrington'.

The club's training complex, officially called 'Trafford Training Centre', has been at the forefront of world football since it's opening in 2000. The main building was followed by the Academy centre in 2002, and work begins next month on a new science and medical building. By next year, the 108-acre site will comprise of £33.5 Million worth of structures, and no doubt it will take a lucrative offer to tempt United into renaming the base to the sponsor's specs.

United are on the brink of racking-up £100 Million per year in commercial revenue alone, and with The Glazer Family floating 25% of their stake on the Singapore Stock Exchange this winter, the future looks bright for the club not only on the field - but off it. It is unknown whether the possible renaming of Carrington would also have an impact on the old first team and Reserves training ground - The Cliff - which is still used by some of the club's youth teams.

Well since Gibson looks set to leave now too, further weakening our already frail and inexperienced midfield.I think that from all this recent cash inflow from sponsors, selling one or two players and naming rights being sold we should invest in a leader and true warrior to lead us to more titles this season.I personally would like Sneijder but not too sure he will come so we should find another talisman to secure success this season!

Sorry but Darron Gibson departing will not decrease the quality of our midfield.

He is (a very good) 6th choice, and Sir Alex wants to give Ravel Morrison and Paul Pogba a chance!

I like Gibbo but he will not be remotely missed.

The only time Wesley Sneijder will be the answer, is to the question "What could fuck up our team cohesion and squad mentality?"

Well It looks at this stage that we are not going to sign anybody else till January 2012 it looks like snijder deal is over no movement- goetze staying at dortmund kagawa not being looked at till next season and ganso not good enough- and Gibson leaving Pogba in our midfield is weak and dosent look good for nxt season

I wouldnt read to much into this, until something is confirmed by United I chose not to believe it. Anyway if Arsenal/city stadiums can land naming rights of around £100m than naming rights on Carrington would have to be worth more than £100m, after it is the best training center in the world and is better than those 2 clubs stadiums are. Carrington is the training home of United and is at the forefront of science and technology in the world of football, considering how great Carrinton is and what United does there it is worth well over £100m to get a naming rights deal, plus new work is being done to make the palce even better. The greatest stadium in the world the 'Theatre of Derams' Old Trafford will NEVER have naming rights on it but any deal there would be no less than £500m. I mean the complex haves training and rehabilitation areas, physiotherapy and massage rooms, and remedial and hydrotherapy pools aswell also squash and basketball courts, a sauna, steam and weight rooms, a restaurant, conference rooms, offices, classrooms, and a TV studio to interview players and staff for MUTV and there are 14 football pitches of varying sizes, indoor pitches and two lagoons which are used as part of the waste water treatment system, United are also putting together a virtual hopsital to continue to stay ahead of the game. United hope to start work on the project next season after conducting a feasibility study into the benefits of housing medical facilities on site.

It will include a new sports science unit dedicated to developing ground-breaking training schedules and tailor-made programme for injured players.

United's remarkable plans also include rehabilitation facilities and top-class fitness and gym areas.

There are even plans for injured players coming off the field at Old Trafford to be whisked straight to the new centre for scans.

United are investing in the latest CT scanning and MRI equipment to make instant medical assessments on occasions such as when Wayne Rooney damaged his ankle against Bayern Munich in the Champions League in 2010.

If the injury requires an operation, then United's players will still be treated at a private hospital.

Back at Carrington there will also be specialist rooms kitted out with dentistry equipment, osteopathy tables and yoga suites.

Any naming rights deal is well over £100m in my opinion.

So, I asked what your source was, seeing as this hasn't been reported anywhere else, and it seems my perfectly reasonable question has been deleted.
