Wesley Sneijder set for Man Utd
Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted Manchester United's interest in Wesley Sneijder, but echoed Inter Milan's stance that the Italian giants do not want sell. United CEO David Gill has been spotted in Milan, staying behind to iron-out a club record £35 Million move for the Dutch midfielder...

Sneijder, 27, is seen as a perfect replacement for recently-retired midfield genius Paul Scholes. The Holland International is at the prime age of his football career, and is 9 years younger than Scholsey. Admittedly, Sir Alex has had his eye on the World Cup finalist for a couple of years now, having spotted Sneijder playing for Ajax in 2007, before his big-money move to Real Madrid. Inter then signed the ace in 2009 for a bargain £13 Million.

"No, these reports (of a bid being tabled) are not true." Sir Alex told foreign media during the week. "Inter refuse to sell him, so it's a difficult situation. We'll see." Inter director Marco Branca added: "There's not been an official offer and there has never been the intention to listen to them. He is not for sale. It's not surprising that Sneijder is a player that is liked by many teams, including the strongest in the world like our team is (joke ?)."

The usual signal in Italy of discussions taking place over a move is when one of the clubs in question deny that the said player is on the verge of a transfer. Now that this has happened, it is understood that David Gill has flown to Italy in a bid to complete a club record €40 (£35) Million deal by Friday. Sneijder has been offered something in the region of £200,000 per week by United, and is keen on a switch to the world's best-supported team...

Biggest and best signing in a long time!
We have been papering over the need for a creative CAM since Ronaldo was with us. Scholsey has been a genius but not quite been the same since his long injury spell.

Wes will bring a dynamic creative catalyst we have been craving for the past 2 or 3 years!

Can the people who post comments at least attempt to spell properly?

And after doing that, can they answer the conundrum of how Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez and Wesley Sneijder are all going to start in the same XI?

Bad signing, Samir Nasri would be a much better signing.

Who says they have to play together anyway? There are plenty of games to go around.

How would Sneijder be a bad signing?

It would allow us to play wider game. A 442 could be used and/or 4411. With a CAm like sneijder dictating play with dissecting passes controlling the flow with Rooney having a licence to roam and play off sneijder with pace and freedom. I CAM like Sneijder would mean Nani wouldnt have to come in field and keep the wide shape by playing to the byline feeding Chico in the box with Rooney arriving late and Sneider prowling the edge of the box as he does!

It worked well with CAM scholes in his glory days with cantona playing off the front man and would be even more potent now!

Just my opinion :-)

I think these writers have nothing else to do so they make up stories, 1st they said that the deal will be finalized by Wednesday now it's Friday, then by Friday it will go to next week. I don't think United are going to sign him, i think Fergie is going to find a Scholes replacment within the club

Is anyone else sick of this Sneijder talk. He will categorically NOT SIGN FOR UTD. Gill went to Zurich for a conference and to quote Fergie himself. ''I keep reading about this, there's absolutely nothing at all to that [reports of United's interest in the player]," Now can you please end this silly season speculation. We need to concentrate on our current midfielders and those that will be coming through this season
