Manchester United have embarked on a 14-day 'Champions Trophy Tour' of Asia, with the journey beginning in Hong Kong, China were The Red Devil's South Korean playmaker Ji-Sung Park launched the event. Over 300 invited guests were present at an exclusive United-themed restaurant and bar in Hong Kong, where the world's biggest club teamed-up with sponsors to bring The Red's 175 Million Asian supporters closer to their idols. Park hosted the media event midweek, which also marked the global launch of United's 2010/2011 Season Review DVD. Commercial Director Richard Arnold introduced the press and fans to Park, before thanking club partners Nike, Audi, Turkish Airlines, Hutchison 3, Danamon Bank, Singha, TM, PCCW and MUFB for their sponsorship throughout the next two weeks. It is estimated over half of United's 350 Million global fans hail from Asia. United have a long-standing relationship with the far east, visiting the continent since 1974. The Reds took the Premier League trophy on tour in Asia in 2008, before visiting the area for 2009 pre-season friendlies. The trip will include past and present footballers, but most notably Asian native Ji-Sung Park. The tour includes stops in China (27th/28th June), Indonesia (29th/30th June), Thailand (1st July), Malaysia (4th/5th July) and Singapore (6th/7th July). The record-breaking Premier League Champions wave goodbye on July 7th, 3 days after players come back from their summer holidays to resume training at Carrington. The squad then fly to the United States Of America for a 5-match, month-long tour of the country. First-up for United is MLS side New England Revolution on July 13th, before finishing the tour in style with a game against UEFA Champions League holders Barcelona on July 30th.
