Sir Alex Ferguson, Nemanja Vidic
Sir Alex Ferguson and Nemanja Vidic named Barclays Manager and Player Of The Season...

The awards just keep rolling-in for Manchester United, as boss Sir Alex Ferguson and captain Nemanja Vidic made it a memorable one-two in the Barclays Premier League seasonal award stakes. Sir Alex was named Barclays Manager Of The Season, and the award was presented to him by the League Managers Association. Vidic was recognised for his outstanding season at the back, scooping the Barclays Player Of The Season gong...

Sir Alex has guided his side to a record-breaking feat of 19 domestic league titles this season, securing the Scot's 12th personal Premier League trophy. The 69-year-old shows no signs of retiring, claiming an unprecedented 9th League Manager Of The Year award. The gaffer accepted the award from League Managers Association Director - Frank Clark - at Carrington on Friday, ahead of Sunday's Premier League trophy-lift at Old Trafford.

Vidic, who narrowly missed-out on beating Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez to this year's Sir Matt Busby Fans' Player Of The Year award on Wednesday night, was sighted for his world-class skippership and defending for The Red Devils this campaign. The 29-year-old Serbian centre-half is undoubtedly the world's best defender in the current climate, making 45 appearances for the club this season, playing 34 of those games in the league.

United's 24-unbeaten run from August to February has had a tremendous bearing on why the Premier League crown has returned home to The Theatre Of Dreams this term, the ground on which The Reds currently hold an unbeaten domestic streak dating back to April 2010. Finally, the players and staff receive the credit they are so overdue following unfounded criticism of the current squad... Well, the Premier League table says it all !
