Open-Top Bus Parade Planned For Champions 15/05/2011
United will take to the streets of Manchester on Monday, May 30th in an open-top bus to parade to display their record 19th Barclays Premier League crown. The Red Devils will also showcase the UEFA Champions League Cup, if Sir Alex Ferguson's side overcome Barcelona on Saturday, Mat 28th at Wembley... The club announced on Saturday evening that Manchester United FC had struck an agreement with Manchester City Council, Trafford Council and Greater Manchester Police to organise a victory parade on the streets of Manchester. An open-top bus route has been planned, whereby the squad will put on display their 2010/2011 silverware, which could include both the Premier League and European Cup trophies, if all goes to plan against Barcelona... United are now preparing for their trip to London, where they will meet Barcelona at Wembley Stadium for a mouth-watering Champions League Final. Barca have recently been crowned La Liga Champions, while The Red Devils claimed a record 19th English domestic top-flight win on Saturday - setting the standard of Premier League football for decades to come. Sir Alex will be wanted his side to at the least match the Spanish Champions in the Final. With the 1-1 draw at Ewood Park against Blackburn Rovers, Blackpool's trip to Old Trafford becomes an insignificant result for the Red Army. Sir Alex will be searching for a win, but regardless of what happens next Sunday - United will lift the Premier League trophy. This, coupled with a possible Champions League title will go on display around the city just before lunchtime on May 30th Bank Holiday Monday. Further details will be announced in due course.
