Sir Alex Ferguson presented 2011 LMA Manager Of The Year award by David Gill, via video link...
The awards just don't stop coming... Sir Alex Ferguson has been awarded the 2011 League Manager Associations (LMA) Manager Of The Year (sponsored by Barclays) accolade, accepting the gong from Manchester United Chief Executive David Gill via video-link from Old Trafford. Meanwhile, 6 United footballers were named in the starting XI and 4 on the substitutes bench in the Premier League 'Team Of The Decade', voted by all 20 league managers.
In London, the LMA named Sir Alex as the Manager Of The Year and also handed the Red Devil's gaffer the LMA Special Merit award after receiving his 12th Premier League winners medal, brining the club's total to an incomparable 19. The boss was chuffed with the two prizes, saying it was 'wonderful' to be acknowledged by his Premier League peers (managers who voted for the award) and complimenting the work of the LMA in general.
Meanwhile, 6 Reds were named in the starting XI of the Premier League 'Team Of The Decade', which was voted by the league's 20 managers earlier this May. 4 United stars were named as subs, bringing to 10 the number of Red Devils on the 16-man squad. 7 out of the 10 United footballers are still playing with the club, with only Gary Neville, Cristiano Ronaldo and David Beckham retired or having changed their colours.
