Dimitar Berbatov poses with the Barclays Premier League Golden Boot
Joint-top-goalscorer in the Premier League 2010/2011: Dimitar Berbatov...

Manchester United's top goalscorer this season, Dimitar Berbatov, has been given the Barclays Premier League Golden Boot award for the 2010/2011 campaign. With The Red Devils ending the competition as Champions last weekend, the 30-year-old Bulgarian striker finished joint-top in the goalscoring charts with former United striker and current Manchester City captain Carlos Tevez, whose side only managed 3rd in the League.

Berbatov has been a revelation for The Reds this term, scoring 21 goals in 42 games, with 20 of those scores coming in 32 Premier League appearances. Berba has since lost his place on the usual Starting XI to Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez, who has netted 20 goals in 44 games in his first season in English football. Mexican superstar Chicha has a habit of hitting the back of the net on all stages, scoring 13 in 27 Premier League caps since August 2010.

Dimitar, who has a hat-trick of hat-tricks to his name - including equalling the Premier League record of the same goals scored in one game (5 goals against Blackburn Rovers) - says he has no intentions of leaving Old Trafford anytime soon, despite intense media speculation that Sir Alex Ferguson is set to ditch his classy Bulgarian forward. With Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez, Dimitar Berbatov certainly won't be short of challengers !...

Dimi needs to look to Ole Gunnar Soslkjaer for a good reminder why he should stay put if other clubs come knocking. You can be a sub and a legend at United and Ole has proved that. Turning down regular starts for a smaller club to be an impact sub at a HUGE club bears no shame at all. And who knows, he could play himself back into contention. Personally, I'd be happy if SAF rotated our strikers more... but, unfortunately, Rooney seems above being benched.

I believe (or I'm sure I read somewhere), that Tevez has played more games than Berba so therefore his goals to games ratio was not as good and the reason why Berba won it?

Dima is no spring chicken. Not many run on beyond 32. It is a good idea to stay at Man U. Super sub or not I would like to see Dima score against stronger sides next year.

Dimi's goals were all from open play. Tevez scored a lot of penalties. Dimi is the TRUE golden boot winner. :D

Berba has scored 21 lge gols this season 1 more than tevez, which is why he has won th golden boot.I've had a look @ our lge results this season n hav managed 2 count how much Berba has scored, all adds up to 21 gols in lge

DIMI IS A WONDERFUL PLAYER THATS WHY HE WON IT EVEN THOUGH HE DIDNT PLAY MUCH GAME AS TEVEZ AND HE WAS FIRST TO REACH 21 GOAL

Aarfan, Berbatov had a goal taken away from him by the Premier League's "dubious goals committee." It was his second goal against Sunderland, a heavily deflected shot, which they have now classed as an own goal.

Tevez also had a deflected goal discredited by the committee the same day as Berba.

Berbatov could have clinched the golden boot for himself against Blackpool but was unable to score. It matters not, he shares the golden boot anyway. :)

To make iteasy, since berbatov and tevez are level, both should take one shoe each, one take the left boot and other take the right boot......
