Alex Ferguson Gracious In Barca Defeat 29/05/2011
 Sir Alex applauded Barcelona for their outstanding performance on Saturday night, as The Catalan giants out-passed Manchester United until the end of a nail-biting affair. Pep Guardiola's men claimed the club's 4th UEFA Champions League at Wembley Stadium, beating The Red Devils 3-1 in the Final... Pedro Rodriguez opened the scoring for Barcelona midway into the first period, but Wayne Rooney struck a blow before half-time as his top-corner finish brought the sides level. But a dominant Barca side flattened United in the 2nd half, with goals from Lionel Messi and David Villa clinching the Spanish Champions their 2nd European Cup in 3 years against The Reds. Wembley Stadium was temporarily turned into a fiesta on Saturday night... "We were beaten - there is no other way to address the situation - by the best team," Sir Alex said bluntly after the 3-1 loss. "They are the best team we have ever played, they are at the peak in this cycle of their team." "I expected us to do better, but at the end of the day we were beaten by the better team. There was good evidence we are a consistently good European team but we were beaten by the best team in Europe and there is no shame in that. Sometimes you come up against a far better team and tonight was one of those nights..." the gaffer added, alluding to the fact that this was his side's third European Cup finale in just four years.  Manchester United have won just one Champions League Final from their last three attempts United followers won't be feeling too dejected though, boasting about the club's record-breaking feat of 19 Barclays Premier League titles, overtaking arch-rivals Liverpool (18). Sir Alex and the boys will tour Manchester on bank holiday Monday via an open-top bus for a Premier League Victory Parade. The boss still feels his team should have performed better on the night, saying: "We expected to do better, simple as that. We have had a great season in many ways, it is just disappointing that we have been to Wembley Stadium twice (also 0-1 Manchester City) and been beaten. Still fuckin gutted, as simple as that. My heart sunk when i seen Giggs and Carrick up against xavi and iniesta!!!! No legs and heart against pure brilliance! Thats were we lost the game. Well I hope fergie sticks by what hes said and buy some world class midfielders cause if we don't I fear we will struggle next season, we all know we are lucky to be 19 times winners this season, 4-5 mew faces Is needed. Fellow Man United supporters shouldn't get too upset over the loss. To me, with such an average Team, Winning the EPL for the 19th time and getting to final of Champions League is already a great achievement. Lets just hope that the 3-1 defeat will spurs Fergie on to buy 3-4 world class players. As seen from the final, the weakest link is at the centre of midfield! Hams 30/05/2011 6:02am

Falcao from Porto would be a super signing as he's been a goal machine this season, but he's probably gonna be top dollar. I'd try for Sweinstieger, Modric and Hazzard too, and don't be giving me "But we've no money", that's nonsense as we've 3 new kits out this season after 2 new ones last year, so the club must be raking it in with shirt sales, sponsorships, selling Berbatov, tv revenue and cash from the Champions League run. We were well and truly beaten by the best, chin up boys you have won the clubs 19th title and no shame to lose the final to barca! They're the best of all time in my mind. Thankfully scholes has retired, he was awesome for us but it would have been said to see another season. Thanks scholesy! We now need to get snjieder and another world class centre mid like schwinsteiger or modric to compete in Europe. Also still think another keeper with experience for at least one season. Robinson from Blackburn??? He's English and form good. Not sure why they're rumoured with young or another winger we need tall striker to play with Rooney or chicharito! Out should go brown, o'shea, carrick, berbatov(sorry but you were never gonna be a united long term player, too lazy), bebe and Hargreaves! We need some fresh world class midfielders that's a must...like neymar. I don't think young is good enough for man u, I think snejder is world class but he can't deal with xavi or inesta in midfield chances are Manu will have beat barca to win the champions league next year. I've seen snejder or even scweinstger play against xavi and inesta they couid do much against them. Man u need to get neymar the biggest playmaker in the making.
