 Manchester City obviously had most at stake heading into The FA Cup Semi-Final tie with big brothers Manchester United, but that was no excuse for The Red Devils to go out and lose the game. Sir Alex Ferguson admitted he was unhappy with the count of errors in the defeat, but wants his team to respond in the Premier League... Yaya Toure pounced on Michael Carrick's calamitous error in the second half, as Man City beat neighbours United 1-0 in a much-anticipated FA Cup Semi-Final. Mike Dean sent-off Paul Scholes to make things worse, as Blues fans celebrated as though they had actually claimed their first silverware in 35 years. Arguably, United should have won the game given the amount of first half openings - but in the end of the day, it's only The FA Cup. "The first 15 minutes after half time cost us the game - slack moments. Edwin Van Der Sar had a bad kick out and Michael Carrick couldn't hold it and it was a goal. From then on, they were defending apart from a couple of counter-attacks. It's disappointing as we should've been ahead in the first half as we were the better team." Fergie said. "The chance that Dimitar Berbatov missed - there was a great save by the keeper but the second chance, from under the bar, if he'd have scored there I had a feeling whoever scored first would win the match... But It's a major game on Tuesday up at Newcastle. We're getting recovered to get ready for the game on Tuesday. I think fergie is begining to learn that Carrick and Berbatov are not good enough and arenot up the level that utd need to be at to compete at the highest level- there unreliable . How come no one is saying anything about John O'Shea, if u take another look at Carrick's giveaway, O'Shea called for time when really Carrick had Touré pressuring from behind. That's why he thought he could afford a touch and a turn. John's been brilliant but I think his style of right back play is nothing like Rafael's, or Evra's or Fabio's or even Clichy n Ashley Cole, who become wingers when they need to, leaving the wingers to flood the box. They wanted it more than us. First 30 mins we were brilliant...one crackin save & a sitter missed and the rest is history. U can't blame any one player but the whole team...City wanted it more & they deserved it. Can't believe people slagging off the likes of Carrick...ok hes not had the best season but has stepped up to the mark at the best time...he had a shocker today...yes, but he was instrumental in our win against Chelsea to take us into the semis of the Champions League....they're all allowed an off day! Berbatov scores in bits and pieces and against weaker opposition not in the big games- and more importantly utd play better when he's not in the team slowing the pase. Carrick is not good enough when will u people learn - ben- that just cause he plays 2-3 good games or one good pass doesn't excuse the shit he played all season. Carrick wouldn't get near the reserves at Chelsea or arsenal or city and every utd fan knows it. City controlled the game after the first 30 mins. They dominated in midfield and didn't give us any time on the ball. We should have had Giggs instead of Scholes to start.
