Wigan Athletic Reserves finish second for the time being, as Manchester City's 'Elite Development Squad' have the chance to end the season one place behind United if they draw or win their game-in-hand. United will play Blackburn Rovers Reserves - winners of North Group B - in the Semi-Finals of the nationwide Premier Reserve League - which The Reds won last season - a competition which they have won more times than any other Reserve team.

The 0-0 draw with Arsenal at The Theatre Of Dreams was the stage where first team midfielder Darren Fletcher made a 45 minute comeback, following a spell of almost 2 months on the sidelines. The 27-year-old Scottish midfielder had suffered from a virus, but is expected to regain full fitness within the coming weeks.
