Anders Lindegaard To Undergo Knee Surgery 15/03/2011
Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard is to undergo a knee operation later this week, which will rule the 26-year-old Denmark International out-of-action for approximately 5 weeks. Goalie Ben Amos has been recalled by the club from his loan spell at Oldham Athletic, where he has made 16 appearances this season... Lindegaard will go under-the-knife on Thursday, in an attempt to solve a recurring knee problem. The 6ft 4in Dane joined Old Trafford in January, following an earlier £3.4 Million agreed fee from Norwegian side Aalesund. Lindegaard is seen as a possible eventual successor to retiring keeper Edwin Van Der Sar. The 26-year-old stopper has made 2 appearances for United so far, both coming in The FA Cup. 20-year-old Reds Reserve goalkeeper, Ben Amos, has been recalled by his parent club to cover for Lindegaard - who is expected to return to the bench by mid-April. Amos has played in 16 games for Oldham Athletic in his loan spell at Boundary Park. Tomasz Kuszczak is also on standby in Lindegaard's absence... CommentsMark W. 16/03/2011 9:13am
Wish him a speedy recovery. He played very well in his two FA Cup starts, just allowing one goal which came against Southampton. Chris m 16/03/2011 6:31pm
