Green & Gold Campaign
Manchester United bonds have hit a record high amid speculation of a possible £1.6 Billion takeover by Qatar Holdings. The Glazer Family are still said to be looking for a higher offer for the world's largest sporting entity, and have reportedly asked the Qatar Family to equal their valuation of £1.8 Billion for their majority stake in The Red Devils...

According to Bloomberg, traders on the London Stock Exchange believe that a buyout at United could take place soon. Qatar Holdings - a branch of the Qatar Investment Authority, valued at £40 Billion - are rumoured to be close to a deal with the club's owners, The Glazer Family. The club's high-yield bonds have hit record highs over the past number of days with the talk of a possible buyout, which would see the debt-ridden American owners leave Old Trafford.

"So far it appears to just be newspaper speculation. The club has issued repeated denials that its not talking with anyone. The market seems to have reacted to the stories in the press..." Bloomberg's London editor, Tariq Panja, told United-Latest.Com on Tuesday.

"A lot of investors expect the Qatar deal to happen now," Jonathan Moore, a London Stock Exchange analyst was quoted as saying this week. "As a result, you would have a stronger owner financially with no real concerns about them taking cash out of the club. Plus, a new owner might decide to take out the bonds, which would mean paying a premium."

The Green & Gold Campaign, set-up in protest at The Glazers, is still holding strong. Tens of thousands of fans are still displaying their colours in the hope that the highly unpopular owners cut their losses. The Glazers bought the club for close to £800 Million in 2005, and stand to make a major windfall if the club is sold for a touted £1.6 Billion.

The buy out will happen Qatar will become owners in the summer. Its sad to say but the green and gold has nothing to do with it. The only thing thats making the glazers sell is that at the end of the day they are going to make a profit on this sell but at the same time its a good thing for united because we can go out and get the players we want because the money will be there for Sir Alex to use. I beleve that Sir Alex has money to use with the Glazers but it not as much money they are saying they have. With Qatar being the owners at least 3 Hundred million United should have in there bank to get players with the Qatar royal Family. All around its a win win for Manchester United.

No love for the Glazers but it's not been such a disaster as expected and in terms of portfolio we may not be that important long term to Qatar . Agree their money will be great in the short term but do worry long term as red nights seemed like fans whilst Qatar maybe have other motives like the world cup . All a far cry from the days of Louis and son Martin Edwards who both had their critics

@ WELL THEN REDScot ha ha ? anyway Qatar deny any takeover talks according to a source close to the deal i think that is a good sign they would not want to say it is true in case some else could come with an offer our they would not want the Glazers to put the price even more

If they do take over they will dwarf city the owner of city is worth 17 billion and the qatars r worth a reported 40 billion so in ways of tranfers no 1 could touch us but I don't want to do war chelsea and city ave done and buy players for the sake of buyin them dnt dnt think SIR!!!! Alex will do tht and pay over the odds for players

Perhaps Qatar holdings is looking in getting a stake in Man United but I believe negotiations are at a critical phase and even the Qataris are going for a full buyout, the Glazers would probably want close to £2 billion at least.

Things up for discussion are why the delay in Scholes letting us know he will give the club another year and will Hargo get a game in the Cup.
The cup may be a harder game than expected as VDS will get a rest surely and expect a lot of changes but was it 2005 that Exeter gave us a game at Old Trafford which saw Eagles and Pique shown the door and Derby also surprised us since so hope the players are reminded of all that . Still should be an easy win but football is always throwing up freak results
