Qatar Royal Family
According to the latest reports, Qatar Holdings are set to complete a £1.6 Billion takeover of the world's biggest club. The Glazer Family are expected to finally sell Manchester United, after years of pressure to pack-up after they plunged the club into £750 Million of debt. United have denied reports, but sources within the club have said otherwise...

The Daily Express have gone with the story that the Qatari Royal Family are on the brink of buying The Glazer Family out of the club for a rumoured £1.6 Billion. It is believed that the unpopular Americans have agreed, in principal, to sell their majority stake in United, with the oil-rich Arabs boosting their bid with an extra £100 Million over the last few weeks to tempt The Glazers to pack their bags for good.

The Qataris 'wont take no for an answer', with a source close to the deal telling newspapers: "The deal is pretty much done and they are only haggling over details." According to The Express, The Red Devils much-anticipated derby clash with Manchester City - owned by oil-rich Arabs - could be the last game that United play under American ownership.

However, communications director Phil Townsend told BBC Sport that the club is not for sale. Old Trafford has taken this line over the past few months of takeover speculation, but the deal is said to be going ahead not matter what spokespeople tell the media. "There has been no approach and one would not be welcome because the club is not for sale..."

Everyone wants the Glazers out, why should we inherit their debt from poor business management! But we definitely do not want to turn into another City, difference is, we already know how to run a successful club and business, and have a great record of bringing players through the academy! % players in prem teams should be higher though! Not sure if it could be a bad thing as long as we get rid of the Glazers I am happy! Come on reds for tomorrow!

As long as the yanks are out. But i think any new owner would be better off letting the board at utd run the club like they know how. The problem at chealski and shity is that the owners have too much say in the running of the club and who plays

RE: Dazbomber

Our problem is not attracting the world's best players, it's buying them !!!

If we have no debt united make enough to buy players don't want to turn into another city but most important is fergie stays incharge and the new owners doesn't select the team or which players to buy

Cant see owners putting in £1.6 billion and not wanting to have a say. but the timing couldnt be better like dan says, go into the home strech with money in the bank and ronney might stop sulking, for new tallent awaits in August !!!!

As long as fergie is still at the helm we will be fine no matter who owns the club. We only need 2 quality central midfielders and the squad is if a very high standard. Gago and sneijder.

It's not going to happen all just smoke- the glazers are waiting for there phone Market to go global in 2012 and utd are there only company making money.
All of the money utd make goes towards the glazers debt - not uniteds and is also put into other parts of the glazer empire.
In 2012 the glazers might sell depending on there stocks-
I hope I'm wrong I hate these bastards they are destroying this club, my club-
I must also say there is also a possibility that theycould accept an offer of 1.6billion this could be used to but money into there other businesses- I know it's a contradiction but some of the glazer business is not going to well- the shopping mall section in particular so the rumour goes
I hope they leave now and don't let the door of old Trafford hit u on the way out

How would a club spokesperson know anything about this anyway? Their denials mean nothing. It's between the Glazers and the Qataris, executives at the club will be told once the deal has been done, just like the rest of us.

My personal belief is that the Qataris will take over, and fairly soon.I think that The Express is right, that it is only a matter of haggling over a couple hundred million or so and a few minor details to iron out then the deal will be done.I suppose it is a bit like when you buy a house, you go in with a lower offer which gets rejected, and if you want to buy,you go in with an improved offer or two which usually gets accepted.I think it is the same here.

i think that it is a good thing the Qatar are going to take over as long as they let fergie run the club because he is the best manager going and he won't do what manchini has done he will only buy players that will work well with the team. As much as we all hate the glazer family that is the one thing we have to like about them is they let fergie do what he wants and they did not ask any questions.
