We Were All Over The Place - Fergie 14/11/2010
![]() Sir Alex expressed his discontent with The Reds on Saturday, as they narrowly avoid defeat at Villa Park. Substitute Kiko Macheda and captain Nemanja Vidic revived United late on, but the boss admitted his anger with the side's lack of shape... Ashley Young sent Edwin Van Der Sar the wrong way from the penalty spot, after Wes Brwon pulled the Aston Villa winger down inside the box. Four minutes later, in the 76 minute, Marc Albrighton tapped-in from close range to put Gerard Houllier's side two goals to the good. Sir Alex rang in the changes and his sharp decisions led to the first goal in United's comeback, as Macheda's top-corner strike ignited a late fight. Five minutes before time, Luis Nani's cross was met by skipper Vidic - grabbing his 3rd goal of the season, and bagging Nani his 9th assist of the campaign. "We could have lost six goals in the second half. They hit the woodwork three times and Albrighton missed two great chances. We were all over the place. I think the emotions of the way Villa played kept them at a high boiling point. The tackles, some of it was fair, some of it wasn't, but the referee allowed things to go and sometimes that makes a great game." Sir Alex reflected. "I think we've seen a great game today. Great credit to Aston Villa for keeping that emotional aspect up for the whole game. They got stuck in, tackled, fought and the crowd kept them going. We had two great chances in the first half which we should have done better with and it is a concern we've had to wait 80 minutes (to score)." The gaffer credited the late revival, saying United could have went on to pick-up all three points. "To be 2-0 down with 10 minutes to go you have to be pleased with that. With another five minutes we would have won the match, there was no doubt about that, but we waited too long to get there." CommentsLet down fan 14/11/2010 1:29am
Are we still blind! Look at our midfield. An amateur michael carrick who should be playing Sunday school football on a regular basis. No tackles from anyone in midfield. A united team with no men and leaders. Jaafar 14/11/2010 8:02am
If this game wasn't a sign that we need new signings then I don't know what SAF is thinking... Rafiq 14/11/2010 12:20pm
I think I Understood why Rooney wanted to leave.. Replacements for Scholes n Giggs has been overshadowed by the replacement of Van Der Sar.. Defence give away cheap goals, Berbatov never looks like scoring again after his hattrick against Liverpool.. Chelsea have been very generous this season by dropping points n v couldn't catch up.. It's no point being unbeaten all season if u don't win matches convincingly n win trophies :( Comments are closed. |
