And you point is? Just so you know the debt in the club is not £1 billion that is just pure rubbish and stupid to say. The debt is now is just over £500 million HALF the amount you are reporting!

OUR DEBT IS NOW £1.1 BILLION, MAYBE LESS AFTER SOME REPAID. GLAZERS HAVE BROUGHT WITH THEM FOREIGN DEBT FROM OTHER BUSINESSES.

Keith's stats show that we spend a whole load more before The Glazer takeover, and sold less. Ronaldo was sold for £80 Million, ie. they haven't given us anything. They have taken away money instead !

The stats can be used for various points. I put them up as a matter of interest as the days of United being the breaker of transfer records I expect is a thing of a past for many years to come.

I am not a fan of the Glazer's I think they are not good for the club and the debt is a real concern especially in the current financial climate if something goes array we could go under.

However I deliberately didn't write the article as an anti Glazer article because sometimes I just think raw stats that can be interpreted in various ways and left to the reader can be a useful instrument.

Most of my articles will favour a position which I will argue from but I also believe that stats can give readers a comprehensive understanding of United’s history as a club.

the thing is, if ronaldo didn't want to leave us, we would still have him and i'm sure chico and smalling would still have been purchased.
As far as i'm concerned, untill anything official comes out saying we have no transfer funds, I'll believe their word we can sign somebody if we choose to enter the market.
Is there anyone that truly believes we can't go out and pay 20-30 million on a a player if fergie really wants them? Let's bide our time and see how the youngsters get on.
