Kiko Macheda is reportedly trying to help Sir Alex prise Mario Balotelli away from Inter Milan. The Italian U-21 team-mates are said to be good friends, and Kiko has attempted to persuade Super Mario into joining him at Old Trafford, but will it work out ? 

The 18-year-old United wonder-kid has supposedly bombarded his 19-year-old Italian counterpart with phone calls, e-mails and text messages as Sir Alex and David Gill look to secure a deal with Inter's most promising talent.

Balotelli won't come-in cheap though - with the European Champions placing a £30 Million price-tag around his neck. Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea and now Real Madrid are all said to be in on the act. 

City are currently focusing on Wolfsburg's Edin Dzeko, Arsenal can't justify spending £30 Million on a player (nor can we, I thought), Chelsea are only half-heartedly in the race and Madrid's José Mourinho had a fall-out with Balotelli at the San Siro. So in that respect, we are the front-runners with no money !

Despite our disgraceful financial situation (£750 Million in-debt, thanks to the Glazers), the club are said to have tabled a bid of £29 (€35) Million for the striker. With Super Mario's agent, Mino Raiola meeting David Gill - who has stayed behind in Europe - for lunch. Inter have said Balotelli isn't for sale, but if the reports are true, we could garb ourselves one of Europe's top teenagers...
