Giggs Backs Youngsters To Flourish 19/07/2010
![]() Amid all the talk that United will fail because of our financial situation, Ryan Giggs has given another viewpoint to the problems: having faith in Sir Alex's youngsters to flourish into players such as Giggsy himself, Scholesy and Nev as Old Trafford look to reclaim what it ours - The Premier League... Sir Alex and the squad are currently on tour in North America, looking to improve before the start of the new season. The boss has said fans shouldn't expect many more signings, but we all know that everybody is just waiting for the club to announced they've agreed terms with the likes of Mesut Ozil, Mario Balotelli, Luis Suarez or some other rising star. Chris Smalling and Javier Hernandez mark United's only buys this summer, and their deals were agreed before the transfer window opened anyway. But Giggs has told supporters to look at the likes of Luis Nani, Antonio Valencia, Jonny Evans and Rafael and Fabio Da Silva as future stars of United. "Last season we saw a lot of the young players featuring in the first team," said Giggs. "Nani had a good season, Antonio had a fantastic debut campaign, Kiko Macheda had a frustrating season with injuries and now Chris Smalling has come into the squad." "Hopefully their determination and hunger will see them kick on this season and do even better, because we're going to need them," he added. "The injuries we had in defence last season were unbelievable. We've strengthened with the arrival of Chris, and hopefully Rafael and Fabio can get through the season without the niggly injuries they've had." "They want to do well, they're good lads. They want to learn, they want to play for United, get in the team and stay in. That's what we were like when we were younger and I see the same desire in these young players." "I'm excited and looking forward to the new season," said the record 11-time Premier League title holder. "There is that added hunger when you haven't won the league the previous season. It's difficult when you're defending the title because you're champions and everyone wants to beat you. But there's also that determination when you don't win it to get it back, and having not won it last year, we're desperate to win it back." Commentsharry 19/07/2010 11:19am

Within the last few minutes, I have learnt that Mario Balotelli has agreed personal terms with Manchester United. According to Italian press. Not sure if it's true, but we will have an article very soon. Stay tuned...
