With Manchester United and Arsenal both in the market for stoppers, the Lindegaard race could turn to battle. The 26-year-old has been hailed as Denmark's long-awaited answer to the absence of Peter Schmeichel. United coped via Edwin Van Der Sar - but the 39-year-old Dutchman is expected to retire within the next two seasons.

"Anders has been playing at a very high level for a long time now and that has been noticed around Europe. He absolutely has the ability to play in the Premier League." former Liverpool keeper Michael Stensgaard told the Manchester Evening News.
