Udinese forward Alexis Sanchez has his heart set on a move to Manchester United - one of his Chile team-mates has revealed. The 21-year-old has impressed with Chile at the World Cup, and has been linked as a 'perfect' replacement for Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo. But will The Reds again lose-out to other oil-rich suitors... ?

According to many of today's reports, Sir Alex Ferguson has inquired about Sanchez after the winger put-in some good performances in four World Cup appearances for his native Chile - who crashed-out to Brazil (3-0) in the Round Of 16 two days ago.

But it's not the first time Sanchez has been linked with Old Trafford. When leaving River Plate for Udinese in 2008, the Italians fought-off competition from Werder Bremen, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Villarreal. Sanchez has since scored 8 times for the club in just over 60 games.

The Serie A side have said the trickster is not for sale, but are rumoured to be willing to sell Sanchez for anything over £30 Million. Real Madrid are also interested in him, as he scored 3 goals in the South Africa 2010 qualifiers and 4 goals afterwards in warm-up games. However, Sanchez did not score on the World stage - but then again, neither have Wayne Rooney or Lionel Messi.

"All Alexis wants is to play for Manchester United," revealed a Chile team-mate, who declined to name himself. "He'd give anything for that..."

Sanchez could fill-in on the left, instead of Luis Nani, or play a supporting role to Rooney. However, at £30 Million Sir Alex would have to get some serious backing - which he currently isn't getting from the corrupt Glazer Family. Looks like another one is set to slip out of our net...
