Typical Germans, Typical Ballack... 20/05/2010
![]() Chelsea's Michael Ballack will miss the World Cup in South Africa this summer after sustaining ankle ligament damage due to a tackle from Portsmouth's Kevin-Prince Boateng in last Saturday's FA Cup Final in Wembley. The German captain hasn't shed any tears over his injury, instead he's more concerned about the money ! "Every spectator has seen what Boateng did. That was clearly a foul with the intention to hurt Ballack. We are considering taking legal action. We are thinking about taking the case to civil court, but criminal punishment is also an option. You can't just intentionally break the rules to hurt your opponent. It's not like a football field is a place where the law doesn't count, unlike what Boateng thinks." said Ballack's agent, Michael Becker, in a ridiculous statement. Boateng went into the tackle to win the ball, but before he made the challenge Ballack played the ball - Ballack was caught in the ankle by Boateng. Ballack will now be sidelined for 8 weeks, missing the World Cup with Germany, but rather than expressing his dissapointment - he's looking for money ! Ballack, 33, stands to lose up to €1 Million (£855,000) in sponsorship payments according to his agent, who also said Boateng will be reported to the Police... for what ? - A bloody foul. Ballack can hardly make a start for Chelski's first team, and yet he is the German captain (how ?). Ballack himself has made way worse tackles than this and being the 'typical German' (© Sir Alex) he is - he says Boateng fouled him deliberately. While I go away and clear my head to try to understand Ballack, I'll leave you with Boateng's response: ''There is my foul on the one hand and his slap on the other, and I think that violent conduct is far worse than a foul,'' he said. "Ballack really does surprise me. He complains for weeks when (Lukas) Podolski slaps him and yet he does it himself. He is no better than Podolski. What kind of behaviour is that ?'' '"When I hear that, I can see that he has two different ways of seeing things. Can his captain slap whomever he wants ? - That was clearly violent conduct. If I had done that, I would have been banned for years. That is why I left the Germany set-up to represent Ghana.'' Fair deuce Boateng, summed-up in a nutshell... Commentsgit 20/05/2010 6:43pm

Normally I enjoy articles on this site. But I firmly disagree with you here. For one, Boateng clearly made no attempt for the ball, and although I despise anything to do with Chelsea, denying it is just retarded.

You're just a tool - complete bias. News Flash, he's a professional footballer and as such he gets paid. You too would be pissed if you lost out on €1 Million because some hot headed fool made an outragously reckless tackle and lost you your chance at playing WC football. Judging by your comments here, I reckon it would be in your character to stoop even lower than asking for money if this happened to you.
