Joe Cole set for Manchester United switch
Chelsea misfit Joe Cole is on the verge of signing for Manchester United, reports state. Sir Alex is looking for his first big summer signing, and a shock move for 28-year-old is on the cards. Cole has been rejected a contract with The Blues, asking too high a price - but The Reds may be just what he's looking for...

Cole has demanded £120,000 - however the Stamford Bridge side aren't prepared to dish-out over £100k for the midfielder. The development leaves the door wide open for Cole, who will soon become a free agent, attracting attention from the likes of Arsenal, Man City, Tottenham, Liverpool, and of course - United.

Talks haven't got under-way with any club as yet, but an approach from Old Trafford is likely before or during the World Cup in South Africa - where Cole hopes he will be. Meanwhile, another rumoured target - Tottenham's Luka Modric has closed the door on a possible exit, instead signing a six-year deal at White Hart Lane...

A perfect fit for us. Bit can't help feeling he's a
bit old to make much of an impression - 28 is gettin on for a footballer. Although he still has two or three seasons left inhim. I say take him. Pay him. Use him. Sell him...

I hope SAF decide to make him a Man Utd player. He's a class act, cool, composed, deft touches, great finisher and most importantly fantastic temperament - all these are symbols of the BUSBY BABES.

I can't really see Cole joining united. Manchester united policy doesn't go for signing players who are past the age of 27. Owen was an exception as it was a free deal. I'd rather love to see a young player coming on.

Cesc Fabregas has already told Arsenal he wants to leave this summer and he hopes its before the World Cup starts.
I dont see why the Joe Cole link is always a shock move for United? He isnt too bad of a player and i think he could do well at OT as long as he cuts his wage demands lol

RE: mesh.

Mabye he might not join. But the u-27 policy is only for buying new players. Like Owen - this would be a free transfer, as Cole is out of contract soon...

28 is old for a footballer... what are you smokin what about scholes, giggs they must be stone age then... not to mention we would be getting him at a good time he is just gettin form back

@mesh
Cole is on a bosman. we could very well snap him up for free and pay him the wages he wants cuz of no signing fee, and you want to see a younger player what about hernandez and kiko, and duiof, and half the other talent in our youth idk about anyone else but paul pogba is fuckin amazing

Joe Cole would be a great signing for us, cool and calm and most importantly he is English. He would slip onto the left side of midfield a treat and leave Nani to work down the right. Fergie, sign him up!

He will be great value on a free for any top club. If he stays in London fair enough, but Fergie has coveted Cole since he was 16. Redknapp used to talk about Fergie's obsessive admiration of Cole when he was West Ham manager. Every time they'd meet, Fergie would say "How's The Boy?". Thought he was the best young british player since Gazza. Made loads of bids for him but Harry never went for it.
