Sir Alex Hails 'Deserved' Derby Victory 17/04/2010
![]() Sir Alex duly praised veteran Paul Scholes' late, late winner at Eastlands on Saturday afternoon. Scholes headed the ball into the back of the net from a great Patrice Evra cross, deep into stoppage time. The Reds have now put some more pressure back on Premier League leaders, Chelsea - and the gaffer knows that... Scholes played a blinder throughout the 90 minutes, and with 18 seconds left on the clock, he got his reward. Scholes managed to get his noggin' to Patrice Evra's fantastically floated cross, as the ball landed deep into City's goal ! Some pressure is now back on The Blues, as they take on a tough Tottenham side at White Heart Lane, later on Saturday evening. "It would have been very, very difficult if we had not won." said an ecstatic Sir Alex. "I think we deserved to win the match, no question, but I couldn't see a goal coming. I decided to put Scholes a bit further forward and it paid off. He was man of the match today, he was wonderful, he's such a skilful player." The gaffer was also impressed by the evergreen Gary Neville - Neville is now back on Fabio Capello's South Africa list, according to World Cup Betting Punters. Sir Alex added: "The experience in these games is definitely important and can be vital in helping other players as well as their own contribution !" Comments Comments are closed. | Loading
