Rooney Tipped To Land PFA Award 15/04/2010
![]() Wayne Rooney is the 'overwhelming' favourite to pick-up this season's PFA Player of the Year award. Rooney has scored 34-goals, and despite his injury, is still is strongest contender to win United's forth consecutive PFA gong. Wazza was on the list of four, which included former-Red Carlos Tevez, Gunners skipper Cesc Fabregas and Chelski diver, Didier Drogba... If Roo does land the award, he will be the forth Old Trafford star to receive the prestigious accolade in a row. After veteran hero Ryan Giggs won it last season, and twice before him, Cristiano Ronaldo. Rooney, 24, has also been shortlisted for the PFA Young Player of the Year, as has Cesc Fabregas, and with them; Birmingham stopper Joe Hart and Villa mid, James Milner. The four-player shortlist, cut from six as of last year, may be shortened further to three, when Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez take to the field in Saturday's Manchester derby clash at Eastlands !
