Wayne Rooney is the 'overwhelming' favourite to pick-up this season's PFA Player of the Year award. Rooney, 24, has also been shortlisted for the PFA Young Player of the Year, as has Cesc Fabregas, and with them; Birmingham stopper Joe Hart and Villa mid, James Milner.

The four-player shortlist, cut from six as of last year, may be shortened further to three, when Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez take to the field in Saturday's Manchester derby clash at Eastlands !
